The service was like it was a bother to have us there. No one greets you at the door but if you try to seat yourself they tell you someone will seat you. Put up a sign. Then we had a table exactly in the center of the coffee/wait station. So our service was: if they happened to be there doing something else we got attention. Once, the server was leaving the table but had something to say so was talking loudly to us on her way to the kitchen. Then - oh my gosh. No one in the other five star reviews here got the bacon. Literally burnt, hard to chaw on, swimming in a literal pool of grease. French toast was undercooked. Two of us ordered bacon and got the same burnt crap. Hard pass.

The new location has a lot more room. They also now have a full bar. The food is good and plentiful. The highway fries are delicious sliced fried potatoes.

After waiting 45+ minutes and watching tables that came after us get their order we checked in and were told maybe the server didn't put your order in! Then the server comes back another 10 minutes later and ask us if we wanted to wait bc the kitchen is backed up! They didn't even apologize for making us wait for an hour, let alone try to get our food out asap after their error. We understand stuff happens but acknowledging it and correcting it is. We will not be returning.

This is an awesome neighborhood diner I’ve tried many items off the menu but I have to say that hands down the pancakes are like nothing I’ve had before they are so dang good !!! Keep up great work Kelly and Elaine and staff love this place so much !!!
Didn’t get our food for over an hour, tables after us got their food. After we checked with the staff they said maybe the ticket didn’t get put in. No apology or effort to expedite the order, instead told us the kitchen is backed up and don’t know how much longer it will be. Will not be returning.

We waited over 1.5 hours for our food. The only positive part were the sweet waitresses. Can’t attach photos but I asked for crispy bacon & got 2 pieces of undercooked fatty pieces & tendons of what appeared to be bacon. It was chewy and inedible but I was afraid to say anything. When we finally got our food they forgot to give us silverware and by then I was ready to just use my hands. I was afraid it would take another 1,5 hours for them to come back with silverware. Maybe it was a flop but I am disappointed. Also, my husbands mashed potatoes had 5 gallons of gravy on it. The meatloaf was decent tho and their pop was good but that’s about it.

BEST PANCAKES AROUND!!! Huge. Sweet. Taste just as good when reheated. No grease aftertaste. Can’t find a better pancake!!
One of my favorite places to eat in Cedar Rapids. The prices are fair for this economy, staff are welcoming, clean, and bomb food and drinks!
