Food was not good this time?. The Lo Mein was very soggy and mushy and the rice was also almost to the point of being mushy. Then one of my crab rangoon’s didn’t even have the filling in it to make it a crab rangoon. I don’t know, I just feel like the quality of Hy-Chi has really gone down hill lately.

Mandy, the catering coordinator, is rude and pushy. She also was gossiping about me to another customer. The catered food is terrible and overpriced. Guests at my son’s wedding could not believe how awful, tasteless, undercooked and inadequate amount of food there was at his wedding reception and there was 20 less people there than they told coordinator was to be there. One of the servers even asked my sister to put some salad back that she already had on her plate as this was all they had (motioning with her hands) for everyone. The chicken was dry and tasteless, the potatoes clearly were made from a box, carrots were undercooked and they ran out of green beans. One of the guests commented ‘at least the rolls were good’. I spoke with the store director and he apologized for her behavior. Not enough! As far as I and my husband are concerned she needs to be fired. Totally unacceptable!

Waited over 40 minutes for my online order pick up. Two cars came after me and they got the orders before me, even though I called when I arrived and 2 different employees asked me for my name. I understand when things get busy but this is not the first time this has happened!

Absolutely disturbing how the pharmacy handles things. I went to pick up my daughter's much needed prescription and they said I'm sorry we dont have it till tomorrow to fill. ok that's just fine I completely understand. I asked if she could check the other Hyvees. She was sooo rude and said ya I suppose..... came back and said I guess we can have it ready in 5 mins if you can wait. I'm switching pharmacies and Suggest everyone to do the same. She lied right to my face.

Pay attention to customers in the store and not just online. They are very rude. Will not shop there

Always great customer service. If they don't have a product they will find it for you whether it be at another store or not.

Johnson Ave Hy-Vee was my first job when I was just 14 years old. I have moved a few times but every time I find myself close to Hy-Vee Store #1, I get the urge to stop and pick up a few things. What can I say - It feels like home in there! The store is always clean and usually well stocked but on occasion, the staff can leave something to be desired. It's happened on more than one occasion that I have needed help and no one could be found that could assist me. The customer service area is also almost always a cluster and I never have a clue about where I'm supposed to stand in the random line of people. Now, if you haven't been to the Market Grill at this location, you should definitely check it out! Good ol' Hy-Vee deli style food and some additional tasty dishes, served to you cafe style - comfy booth and all. I enjoy the prices and the quiet atmosphere as I eat my meat loaf with mashed potatoes. All in all, Hy-Vee Johnson Ave is a good store. Just don't expect that 15 year old to help you find your green beans.

A picture is worth 1,000 words. This photo says it all. This is the quality of roses I received on Valentine's Day. Ordered well before Valentine's Day and delivered to my work at 5pm (FYI I'm off at 4:30). Wouldn't have been so awful if the flowers were...alive. Yikes.

This store has become my go-to store. I appreciate that there are always employees about, in case I have a question. They have always been helpful and usually accurate. I also like their "Health Market" section where I can find a decent selection of vegetarian and vegan options. (There are also organic options here.) There are weekly deals which can be quite good. The selections at the bakery, deli, meat counter, and ready-to-eat-meal section are substantial. There are a pharmacy and café here as well, but I haven't used them. The only down side of note is that the produce freshness can be hit-and-miss. I have had to stop elsewhere to grab some fresh fruit or vegetables if I wanted something particular and couldn't accept Hy-Vee's options.
