Good food nice people
Our waitress said she had been there for 9 years. That kind of longevity in the service industry usually means that the employees are being treated very well, and accordingly, they do a good job. One can tell that is the case here. The food was great, as was the service. I recommend The Irish Democrat to anyone.
What more can I say !!!
Best burgers...awesome chicken wings ... absolutely terrific staff *****_
The place had just okay food. Nothing Irish about it besides the name and a few decorations. The waitress was terrific and the IPA beer on tap was great. However if you don’t like seeing the people you’re with and are okay with essentially being in witness protection, this is your place. The lighting on my phone screen was brighter than the entire venue.
We just ate at the ID. Food was good as well as the service. BUT, the restaurant needs some care. We park out front just so we don't have to see the disgusting carpet on the back steps. Not to say the flooring in the restaurant is any better because it decidedly is not. And while I am on the subject the First Avenue facing front needs some looking after as well.
Very delicious, everything was pretty light and good beer.
Hubby and I went for lunch. We have eaten there for years and loved it. But so disappointed when we went in. The carpet at the back door on the stairs and into the dining area is absolutely filthy. I went to use the handrail and it was gross and sticky. Once inside we smelled a horrible odor like mold or spoiled food. We turned around and left.
Shared a half rack of ribs in the mid afternoon. Each of us thought they were great. Nice relaxing snack.
Recently ate lunch at Irish democrat with a group of six friends all of us well over 60. Service was exceptional. Lunch was a perfect time for us to gather, And the food was outstanding. Every one of us was very happy. The onion rings were amazing and thin and crispy- perfection. The fish in the fish and chips was not greasy, but perfect and flaky others raved about the sweet potato fries and the chicken strips. All in all this group’s monthly meal gathering could not have been more perfect.
Came in on St. Patrick’s Day. Arrived at 6:30. Asked how long the wait was. Answer was “I don’t know.” Really? A good hostess gives some kind of answer, usually longer than the expected wait. Seated at around 7:00. Waitress took our drink order (there were 6 of us. Five received our drinks. Had to remind the waitress to bring the sixth one. Waitress was given our food orders. During the next hour or so, we asked about our orders2 or 3 times. We were told they were coming. Finally, around 8:15, we told the waitress to forget about the food. She said our tickets were up, it should be soon. (We could see into the kitchen and saw that some of the order had been up for at least 10-15 minutes. So that food would have been cold while waiting for the other orders to be ready.). The waitress asked if we wanted our food ‘to go?’ We said know, we wanted warm food. We didn’t want to take it home and rewarm it! We asked for our checked for our drinks. Got the check and paid it. As a courtesy, I would have thought the drinks (1 beer and a soft drink) would have been free. We will never be back. I’ll be anxious to see if this review sees the light of day.

Came here after a long eight hour drive, and I was not disappointed! Great food, excellent service, and the atmosphere is top-notch! I enjoyed seeing all of the framed photos and newspaper articles on the walls. They also had lights and decorations for Halloween, which was a fun touch.
I recommend the tuna filet sandwich as it was a nice experience over the standard tuna sandwich most people are used to.
My wife enjoyed two different Halloween / Fall themed drinks. I tried a sip of the pumpkin spice margarita, and I was surprised at how good it was given my apprehension on that flavor in anything that is not a coffee or dessert.

The pork tenderloin looks and tastes like a glorified chicken patty, literally one you'd get served for lunch at school
