The cake was extremely fancy for a birthday party, but that was the point! My partner and I have been looking for potential cakes for future events, and KC Cakes & Cajun has been on our list for some time. So, we got a layered marble cake with the full Minecraft theme for our son's birthday party to try it out, and goodness, it didn't disappoint! Check out the chocolate in the marbling!!! The kids and adults were very pleased, and we had a great celebration!
We sent KC Cakes & Cajun a picture of our son's birthday invite for inspiration for the cake's design, and they nailed it! The cake was dense but moist and full of flavor, and the icing was to die for - sweet but not too sweet! We got the 10in layered round cake for about ten people, and with the layering, everyone felt full with a single piece - to give you an idea of size.
If you need a cake that can't be beat, especially for a special occasion or event, they'll get you squared away! They are at a new location downtown at 210 3rd Ave, by the Paramount!

Best cookie. They had really pretty cookies and the taste great. When in cedar rapids this is a neat place to visit. I'm pretty sure it would be a great place to order cookies from if you want really pretty cookies for a party

I found out about them from the Too Good To Go app. It's an app that helps restaurants and bakeries not waste so much food at the end of the day. Less food waste and the business still gets some money instead of a total loss. What you get is a surprise at a really good price. Mine included cornbread, spicy beans, and sausage with rice. Also, a huge chocolate chip cookie, a sugar cookie, a cinnamon type cake, and a chocolate cupcake with peanut butter buttercream icing. The cornbread was moist and sweet. It's really tasty. The beans, sausage, and rice were seasoned wonderfully, and I'm so glad they didn't hold back on the spice. I can't explain the flavor, but it was delicious. The chocolate peanut butter cupcake was heavenly. That butterctream icing had such a good peanut butter taste, and it was so smooth. The cupcake had an Oreo in the middle of it. This was my favorite of what I got. The chocolate chip cookie had huge chocolate chunks in it and was soft and chewy. The sugar cookie had a cute design on it. The wet on wet technique isn't easy, and they did a good job with the design. The cookie melted in my mouth. The last one was a cinnamon cake. It was moist and had a good flavor. I did get one of the cookies free when I ordered, but I don't know which one was free. All of the food was delicious. I just wish I could eat there more often, but since I've changed my eating habits, it will have to be for a treat once in a while, as far as the sweets are concerned. I do want to go there again for some more beans and rice. That was so good. Thanks for the delicious food.

Tucked away in a corner of the Newbo market is a taste of N’awlins that you’re not gonna want to miss….the shrimp po boy is legit! And Zapp’s voodoo chips make the perfect side. Prices are reasonable and the service was friendly. Highly recommend!

K.C cakes did an amazing job on making my birthday cake, especially given that i gave her a 4 day time period to make it. She was super sweet and very accommodating to my needs. The cake was amazing!!

Reached out for gluten free cakes for an adoption celebration and they delivered 2 deliciously fresh, amazingly decorated cakes that we and our guests loved and you would never have known were gluten free!!
