The restaurant was a very short distance from our hotel, so, on a dreary and foggy night, we tried it. It was clean, the staff were moderately friendly (I suspect a language challenge), and my food was very good, although my wife's was not. It was not spectacular enough that we would return, but, then, it's unlikely we'd ever be in Cedar Rapids again anyway. It WAS good enough to recommend at least trying it and forming your own opinion. I had Jose's Special and found it unique for a Latin dish, but really quite delicious.
He had steak floutitas.. I had cheese enchiladas. Only mistake is avocado when I don't like it. Other than the avocado mistake this place is a place that you bump into by accident. They had a perfect drink and the food was excellent. This is one of those places that look ordinary on the outside. But the food is excellent on inside.. Don't miss out.

This restaurant was close to our hotel & even though we are from Texas we decided to go ahead & try this place since it has good reviews. A mistake. It was one of the worst Mexican restaurants I have eaten at & neither of us liked our dinner or the salsa. It was all sooooo very bland. We had enchiladas Verdes & Mexicanas which reminded me of some awful casserole my grandmother would make & not yummy. We barely ate our meals cuz it just wasn't good (but our dog loved it) . Maybe if I grew up in Iowa & not South Texas I'd love it, but comparing it to Mexican food I have eaten it was REALLY bad. The portions were very big, restaurant looked nice & service was fine.

Drinks water down and for just a beefy quesadilla with cheese will cost you 30.00.
No other sides come with your dish.
Will not recommend. There are other Mexicans Restaurants to try out.

Food was good but what I didn’t like was the lady who comes by with guacamole cart and asks if u want some but doesn’t specify it cost and we got our bill and it was 8.00 for a small dish of guacamole! They need to specify that it’s extra!

Came here with a 13 co-workers. We all paid our own tab and when we got our checks they added an 18% gratuity from the total of everyone's tickets. So instead of paying $14 for a buffet and drink we all paid over $20 with a $3.85 gratuity charge each. Our server didn't come clean our table in-between nor did she offer any refills. Definitely not deserving of a $50 forced tip.. Then for the ones that asked for change back she tried to pocket the change.

Super friendly service and delicious food. I had the pollo con arroz the first time I was there, and I had it again tonight. If you're in Cedar Rapids and need a go-to Mexican spot, you just found it. Enjoy!

Service was good but most of what I tasted in the food was tomato paste is something similar. Completely masked any other flavors.
