I want to support local businesses, and I read somewhere that local beef sources have better quality beef, a difference you can taste.
There was someone out by the grill when I drove up, and I approached out of curiosity. She shooed me away saying “we’re closed, and this is for catering”. It was 10 am and I had checked the hours ahead of time. So I apparently annoyed her some more by asking for clarification.
It turned out that the store was in fact open. Inside I was helped immediately and easily found what I was looking for.
Unfortunately I paid about double what I would normally pay, and the meat I bought was not in any noticeable way different from what I get at the grocery store.
I can’t think of any reason why I would ever go back. Especially with the kind of greeting I got in the parking lot.
Quality selection of meat and other things.. try their lunch sometime it's very good.
Awesome service and amazing meats. When Fareway refused to help me with a special request I turned to Nelons with zero problems. Wish I found this place sooner!!!

Nelson's catered our wedding last weekend and it was PHENOMENAL.
The food was absolutely incredible. My husband and I really wanted barbecue, and our guests RAVED about it. They said it was the best wedding food they had ever had, and many the best barbecue that they had ever had.
The staff members running the buffet were amazing, and incredibly helpful - one even checked my teeth and hair before we went out for our grand entrance.
We were aware that there was an issue with a previous wedding a few weeks before ours, and reached out to Nelson's with that concern. They responded immediately and assuaged all of our worries. We communicated to confirm details of the meal which put us at ease, and they even offered to set up our buffet line the night before our wedding to assure us that they would be there and ready on the wedding day.
All in all, Nelson's was truly a wonderful choice for us for our wedding, and I would encourage anyone wanting great food and personable service to book them!!
Dont buy the oxtail. Me and wife got foodpoisoning from it. They were frozen.
Could have also been the marrow bones.
Ribeyesteaks received another time were fine.
Good service but dont remember the diarrhea and vomitting with joy.
They charged 75 dollars for a 13 pound turkey. You gotta be crazy, price gouging at its finest

I like going to Nelson's in large part because of the service. They treat you with kindness and respect. Their food and products are really good too.
This was our first time in the store and we purchased a pack of the maine lobster tails. These tails are PHENOMENAL. They’re perfectly sized for their price and taste amazingly fresh and high quality. We will certainly be making Nelson’s our primary spot for getting lobster.
Meat is really good and expensive. I got a soup, it was more like a paste then soup.
Jimmy John's, Wendy's etc on 1st Ave are about three minutes from my work, it takes about six to get to Nelson's. I have no need to ever go to any of those other places again.
I was the matron of honor in a wedding this past weekend and there aren’t enough words to express how horribly this situation was handled when YOUR company decided to not show up. The bride was on the phone reading word for word your email exchange and you proceeded to still try and place the blame on her. I personally had to leave this wedding along with another wedding party member and guest in order to go get food to provide for almost 200 guests. This is something that should have NEVER happened. As a business you would think that if you felt you did not receive proper confirmation (even though you did) you would have reached out to those you had been in contact with in order to guarantee their business. The only thing you can guarantee now is that not one of those 200 guests have ANY desire to work with your business and that word of this situation will be spread. If I could give zero stars I would.
