I got a custom cake for my wedding and where do I begin. It was so what I wanted and so delicious. I actually just finished the last piece of the chocolate layer last night and almost a week later it was still moist and good as it was last Saturday. We have been discussing our design for a half sports half traditional cake since January 2022 and Jessica had great communication through the whole process. She would check ever so often to make sure we got the cake we dreamt of and it did change slightly over the course of 11 months but it turned out exactly the way I had dreamt. I got so many compliments on how cute it was. I will be going back to Jessica and The Red Top Bakery for future cakes. Hands down one of the best cakes I have ever had.

When I came to her with a crazy idea to do a camper cake for my mother in laws birthday, she was very enthusiastic about it! It was a huge hit! She is a delight to work with but more importantly, she is responsive and creative, giving suggestions on cake style, size, how to transport, how to cut etc. She was the expert and I trusted her completely. That trust did not disappoint….our daughter graduated, in May 2022, in Des Moines. I wanted something a bit sophisticated and Jess nailed it! Our daughter wanted lemon cake, with raspberry filling and lemon butter cream frosting. When I arrived to pick the cake up I was amazed! Jess Let me know, that everything was homemade…even the raspberry filling. She decorated it with candied lemons, done by her, fresh raspberries, blueberries and blackberries. The taste was out of this world and believe me when I say, the cake was a hit at this intimate reception. Best cake we’ve ever had and we will be using Jess in the future! Red Top Bakery…professional, reasonable, high standard in cake, filling, frosting and decorating. Thanks Jess! You made our girls day!

I ordered the layered Carrot Cake Redux for my birthday and it was AMAZING! The cake was flavorful and so moist (yes, I said it.) The cream cheese frosting with the toasted pecans was a perfect combination. Who knew candied carrot ribbons could be so good? Everyone I shared it with agreed it was the BEST carrot cake. I froze a few pieces and, when I pulled it out of the freezer a week later, it was just as delicious (and moist) as the day I brought it home. This cake was the absolute highlight of my birthday. ???? ❤
