This review comes with a little hesitation. So, let me explain. My boyfriend brought me here a year ago and let's just say. I made this the place to eat.... if my boyfriend wanted to make up 😆 but in a recent visit. The new cook they have... just popped my normal expectation of what I came to pleasantly enjoy. I truly love to cook and to EAT 😆 so, I do take what I put in MY mouth serious. I hope they find a new cook because the food prior... was phenomenal. But do give these woman a try if in the cedar rapids area. Maybe he improved. Blessing 🙌

most of the food was good. could cook the bacon a few minutes less. Ours was over crispy and burnt tasting. the atmosphere was very smokey. I don't think the kitchen vents were working. very hard to breath. pancakes were delicious.

Really understated restaurant. Small and family run. Great breakfast menu, they serve lunch as well. Try the Rileys Benedict and add a side of taters, you won't leave hungry.

1st off- bonus points for the wonderful hint of rosemary & butter with the fried potatoes in my breakfast. I had the Cedar Rapids shipwreck/scramble. Eggs perfectly done & really good rye toast. Combine that with the screen porch seating & it was an excellent breakfast. The cocktail menu looked tempting. Someone near me ordered a blueberry mimosa- & was raving about it. Easy parking- I’ll be back!
The vegetables in my omelet weren't even slightly cooked and the eggs were burnt? Not sure how that is even possible. Hashbrowns looked as if they had been sitting for a long time, didn't try. The whole place smelled of dirty mop water.

Don’t let the name fool you. Definitely using the name to get customers. First off it was way hot inside and doors open letting more hot stale air inside along with lots and lots of flys. More flys than customers for sure which you had to battle from beginning of your stop until you leave. Food was not good, had an omelet and half of the ingredients were not even fully cooked; and not sure what the hash browns were, but definitely not what I prefer; seemed extremely overcooked and over seasoned, maybe accidentally dumped a ton of black pepper on them. Service was maybe average at best. I will definitely never go back and suggest they fix a lot if they want to stay in business.

the food was not that great..I went for breakfast with my best friend and she wasn't impressed either..the hash browns were spicy the pancakes had powdered sugar on them and the omelet wasn't very fluffy

I stopped into Riley’s Cafe during their soft opening and asked the staff what the most challenging breakfast dish was. They told me the Benedicts—so I ordered the Salmon Benedict, and it was absolutely spot on.
The eggs were perfectly cooked, the toppings paired really well with the salmon, and the portion was super filling. For the price, especially for a salmon dish, it was a great value.
I chose the American Fries as my side—they were fresh, lightly crisp on the outside, and soft on the inside. Exactly how they should be.
Service was excellent, and I’ve got to give the kitchen staff credit for pulling off such a well-executed meal while still training. Definitely recommend checking it out!
