Sam's Pizza And Mr. B's Bar

I went there today and had a couple drinks and the bartender, Maddie? Was awesome! Pleasant to be around and sweet to talk to. I ordered a 12” pizza, since it was half off. I got my pizza and took it home. When I opened the box, you can smell the burnt bread and overcooked toppings. It was so burnt that it was almost inedible. I called them back as soon as I get home and the guy on the phone say “well the bar doesn’t have a phone.” I was like “ok, the pizza that we got was over cooked and burnt”. He said “well the guy who made it isn’t hear right now so you’re going to have to call back” I replied. “Ok… what is his name and when does he work?” “Oh, I can’t give out names” I was so taken aback from this response and then he says “well if you want to bring it back I’ll make you a new one, but if you already are most of it, I can’t help you”.

I didn’t know what to say except “thank you so much for being unhelpful and I hope you have a good day” and I hung up. I understand that people may not be available, but I was given almost no information on how to resolve it.

I don’t yell and u don’t treat service worked like crap because sometimes it’s out of their control, but if you speak to someone like they mean nothing then it’s just as bad. I didn’t yell or curse at him, I suppose I was left more confused then before I called them.

I will say though that Maddie was fun to be around and she did her job amazing. I would come back to grab a drink with her, but I will never order food from them again.

We drove here from Urbana, and we are from out of town. We drove here to get pizza. Bar tender was very rude about the kitchen being closed. It doesn't state that online or on Google. Instead, she accused us of pulling up a bar in Kentucky. Would not recommend just due to the fact of poor service and attitude.

Italian beef was superb! Next time I would try stuffed pizza, just didn't have time. Stopped thru quick on a road trip and glad we took a chance on this place not knowing anything about it. Great staff, chef came up to us to ask how it was. Melody was our bartender/server and she was amazing!

When the late great Toby Keith wrote the song, "I love this bar" he was talking about B's.Sam's Pizza has mastered the art of stretching cheese out like a hammock. Skip the big chains next time.

Terrible customer service. My husband and I ordered a stuffed cheese pizza for dinner (we are catholic and can’t have meat on Fridays) my husband picked it up, paid, got home and realized we had the completely wrong pizza (thin crust sausage) so we called and they said “I’m sorry you got what you paid for” …. Yes I understand that but it’s wrong and we can’t eat it.. he also said the order was read back to us which is incorrect because we would have said no that is not what we ordered? He again said we got what we paid for and said we can order again and wait another 45 min. Such a joke!

EXCELLENT Chicago style pizza. Ordered from there to go and they even put sauce in a separate box so the crust doesn't get soggy. This is now our "go-to" pizza place!
