Love this spot! My fiancé and I have hit it up a couple times for tacos (and treats) after wedding related meetings over our lunch hour and it's very, very solid. The tacos are a great value and the tortillas are the star of the show. Come hungry, though, because their baked goods are amazing, they have seasonal specials, and there is no chance you will leave without some bread or at least one sweet treat. The ambiance is nothing special, but it's a perfectly good location for a casual lunch in a part of town where there are not very many food options. Worth a stop if you are in the area.

This review is for their cinnamon rolls only. My dear Dad stopped by here last week because wanted to buy me a couple of these rolls, so I can't speak to the inside/aesthetics of the establishment from my personal experience. The cinnamon rolls are very big and very good. I do think they were made-that-day fresh when Dad bought them, but by the next day the remaining cinnamon roll was pretty dried out. I'm the weirdo who eats these for dessert, not breakfast. Had I eaten it the morning of day 2, maybe I would have had better luck. Into the microwave it went. The cinnamon rolls have very little icing on them. Personally, if there had been a little more icing I don't think they would have gotten so dried out. Hy-Vee is generous with their frosting and I honestly prefer them to the variety at The Bakery of CR. I definitely plan to come back to see everything else they have to offer, including their tacos. 4/5 stars for the lack of frosting and dryness of the cinnamon rolls. Good value for the $, though! Recommend.

When his place opened up it was a five-star place, recently though it's been hit or miss. Often they are out of products, which is a good thing because then you know that they're making them fresh, however you would think that they would know that they should make more if the demand is there often enough that they are sold out. The pastries have been pretty hit or miss lately as well, the ones that are supposed to be soft are dry the ones that are supposed to be dry are soft, it's just all in all been hit or miss recently. I think they need to get out of the location that they're in as well and have more exposure, because the products that they have a great when they're on point, but in the location that they're at they're not going to be able to continue the initial drive that they had and the product will suffer in the end.

Have only stopped in twice - too much time between the two visits to feel like I have a perfect grasp of all they have to offer but BOTH time I was impressed. The variety, quality, value all impressive for a classic, local bakery. It's not easy to come by anymore and provides a sense of nostalgia. The first time we got a variety of classics - elephant ear, fruit filled turnover, danish and the fresh tortilla (try them!) + probably more. Loved making quesadillas with the tortillas at home - they were the best we've had in ages. This weekend I was sharing goodies so the loaf was perfect (though I ate half all on my own before it made it to their house! ). Delish warmed up on day two with a mug of coffee. Still haven't tried their lunch offerings but I MUST soon - looks so fresh, simple and delish. Check these guys out for lunch (and let me know!) or homestyle baked goods done right!

Amazing! I worked in an old bakery in high school this is quality pastry like I have never had before. Excellent, fresh the people who waited on me were super friendly. Oh, and while I was getting some of the amazing pastry, I ordered a chorizo breakfast burrito and wow was is top notch. Highly recommend.

Great tasting bakery products! Employes need to keep in mind that we can see them as they take our money and then box up our bakery with their bare fingers. Not very appetizing. That's what the tongs and papers are for.

Cheap ingredients, cheap labor and the owner buys cheap junk equipment from China, slaps a plate with their name on it & marks it up 200%. And they are RACIST- I know them well. I wonder how many illegals they have living in the back warehouse? I am praying for a record flood this year as the last two only got within a few feet of the back of their shop.

Live in Marion went Tuesday for lunch which was good. Smelled their cinnamon rolls the whole time we were there heavenly!. We decided today Thursday to go back and try one of their large cinnamon rolls. They didn't have any out so we asked gentleman at the counter if they were making more. He said half an hour they would have some. This was at 9:30 came back 40 min. later still none. We asked again now they were just putting some in oven they will be done in 20 minutes. disappointing! We left and probably won't be back again.
