Nice and quiet during the day

I’ve been here many times but haven’t left a review. There is no bad burger here. It’s good EVERY time. They also have very good cocktails that change. Highly recommend!

Delightful place. The food is amazing, the space is cozy, the atmosphere is neighborly. It is a local pub with really cool maps on the wall. They offer delicious vegan (and soy free !) food. It can even be gluten free. Service is great and friendly.

I would recommend this place to anyone who is interested in fabulous food and the casual atmosphere.

Came here with my father, who likes very American food, while I like somewhat upscale food. We both had a burger we loved and were able to get it gluten-free. The fries were fantastic, having been fried in a gluten, free fryer as well!

The best food and beer around without question. Only thing closer is a small bar all the way on the west coast, this is the best you will ever get that isnt expensive

Nice burgers with fun toppings! Great gluten free bun! Soup special- fried green tomato- was a really tasty surprise. Dark but nice cozy atmosphere.

Need better napkins.

I had such high hopes for this place upon reading the reviews. Our group of six from out of town arrived on a Friday around 4:30. The bartender told us to seat ourselves. We commented there wasn't a table large enough to seat us all. She then came from behind the bar and pushed two tables together for us.
Our waiter, Caleb took our drink orders and then proceeded to take our meal orders. Drinks arrived promptly and were good. Just as our food was being brought to the table, a man who I presume was the manager, asked us to move to a booth because he had other people who were coming in and needed to be seated. What??? Since when do you ask your seated patrons to move for people who WILL be coming in? We obliged and squeezed six grown adults (aged 55-72) into this booth. It was uncomfortable. No room to move whatsoever! It was completely ridiculous, humiliating and disrespectful. One person sat at our now vacated seats, joined fifteen minutes later by one more person. Five minutes before we left another group of four sat at the other of our now separated tables. The appropriate thing to do was to have the unarrived party wait until we left.
Rude

The food was great but if you're a party of six and the manager doesn't know you... just understand there will be no suitable accommodations made for you. Initially a staff person put together a table for us and then while our food was being served the manager came over and redirected us to a smaller seating arrangement because two people apparently needed our space, even though there was an open booth. He then proceeded to provide excuses for his actions of "other people coming in soon" which never added up to why our party of six had been reseated. The area we were seated in was not reserved. The people who did come in actually joined parties that were already seated. However the insult didn't end there but a gratuity of 20% was added to our bill without ever notifying us of this policy, if it at all exists. We had no problem with the waiter, he was wonderful. The manager was way out of line and shouldn't even be employed, in my opinion. In summary if you're looking for a bad experience in service coupled with good food this is the place otherwise my recommendation is to avoid it at all costs.

I was extremely sad and embarrassed at this establishment in Cedar Rapids. We were seated by the staff in a table that would accommodate us. As the food was arriving the manager came out and forced us in a booth for four. Imagine six grown adults being pushed to a booth for four. Then they bring out a folding chair for kids. How do six people paying close to two hundred dollars get this sort of treatment?

This is a wonderful place to unwind and have a light meal with a drink or two. The service is impeccable and the menu is adventurous without veering into pretentious territory. I would highly recommend!

Stopped for lunch when passing through based on other reviews. The Map Room did not disappoint! The food was delicious!!! Napoli burger ? Best fries I've had in a long time. Soo good. The restaurant is small so we needed to sit outside. I'm disappointed we didn't get to see more of the inside but the waiter was very friendly and even lit two heaters for us. Wish I came through town more often so I could stop here!
