From the moment we were seated, the attentive wonderful staff made us feel special, providing outstanding service with genuine smiles that added to our delightful experience.They worked so hard to make our visit incredible.

We started with their famous blueberry Pancakes, and they were nothing short of heavenly. Fluffy, golden, and bursting with a perfect medley of berries, these pancakes set a high standard for breakfast bliss. Next, we savored the enticing Country Fried Steak, which was exquisitely tender and generously smothered in a rich, savory gravy that was simply divine.

For lunch, I opted for the scrumptious Salad, which was a vibrant assortment of fresh greens, crispy lettuce, and luscious cheese. 20241027: We like to stop at the Clearlake IA Perkins - it's a step up from 'fast food' and we can always include a salad.
I had the Southwest Avocado Chicken Salad, and my wife had a BLT with tomato soup.
We had no pie this time, but I like the wild berry when I have room for desert.
My avocado was a little unripe, and a lettuce core was in my salad. My wife didn't care for the bread on her BLT, and she thought the tomato soup was a little too sweet. Nothing serious. We'll keep going back to Perkins as long as we're driving between Iowa City and Minneapolis.

It's frustrating when there are so many people standing in the lobby when there are so many empty tables. Most people would like to sit and drink coffee rather than stand in the lobby. The restaurant definitely needs more help.

We love Perkins and make it a special treat to ourselves a couple times a year since the closest one is 40 miles away.

I've had breakfast and dinner here, and each time it was very pleasant and pleasing. The staff and service is pretty great, and the food is right on par. Almost feels like mom is cooking!
