4 of us had reservations & arrived earlier than our 'scheduled" time. There were 2 tables, so, we sat at the bar.. The gal was busy, so we browsed the menu. The kitchen staff told her to expect a 12 ppl resv at 6:30. She replied she would not have room. We waited patiently & told her we would enjoy drinks up until the time of our reservation. A nicely dressed man came out of the kitchen. & told her "Don't feed the 'bar people" Just worry about reservations. While we were STILL WATCHING FOR SERVICE I TOLD HER TO YELL HIM WE DID INDEED HAVE RESERVATIONS... She sat us in the back 4 top & proceeded to wait on the other table (6pp) she brought water & said it would be a little longer. She took the 6top table & then asked us what we wanted. We at that time ( 25 minutes) told her that the man's conversation bothered us & we had decided to eat elsewhere. She was understanding & asked if she could comp our 1st drink order, however, our attitude about 'fine dining' had left... Along with her tip unfortunately...
We DID find another place & that waitress TREATED VERY WELL & I'M SURE ENJOYING OUR (over $50) tip for HER KINDNESS and PERSONALITY in it which the man certainly could use some clarity to on....
We will not be back...

If you like a pretentious restaurant with outrageous prices for poorly prepared food, this is the place for you. The waitstaff is friendly. The best thing on this plate was the side of potatoes soaked in duck grease.

Worst experience we have had in a while. Poor service, drinks not well executed, and steaks came out barely cooked. Would not go back. Very expensive and disappointed.

I believe it’s under great new ownership/management, Marco, was wonderful! We had a large group with children and were immediately accommodated on the nice and shaded patio. Upscale dining for Clear Lake. The lemon drop martinis need a little work but the wine list was good. We enjoyed all of our items—the tuna tartare, truffle fries, beef carpaccio, soup de jour was a delicious tomato bisque, steak frites, excellent greek salad and the carbonara was a standout with the raw egg you mix in yourself! We will be back!

Excellent food and friendly service. The French inspired menu is nicely executed.

Worth checking out!

The wine list continues to expand with some great old world selections.

I found out I had a personal connection to the restaurant as they are purchasing their Waygu beef from my cousin's farm near Forest City. Given this, I had to try it, which I did, twice in fact! That should give you an indication of how much I enjoyed it. The service was fantastic, responsive and incredibly friendly and professional. Their suggestions for appetizers were spot on and delicious. Try the combination Mediterranean dips as they taste fantastic. I did indulge and have the Waygu ribeye one night and it didn't disappoint. If you know anything about this cut of meat, you know it has very unique marbling and also somewhat expensive. To me, it was totally worth it. I would recommend it without hesitation. Another in my group had the "fish and chips" special which The night we were there was fresh Walleye. It was incredibly flavorful. The roasted vegetables were delicious as was the bread and of course, the duck fat fries were a huge hit. Understand, they just opened and are working on adding this to their menu (such as dessert and after dinner drinks). I am confident they will get there as they are off to a fantastic start. We met the owners and management and were impressed with their friendliness and their entire approach. I am rarely back in Iowa but I will make sure I visit them again as soon as I can.

It was a rainy day, so all seating was inside and there is not a lot of seating without the outside Cafe style area. Service was slow but friendly. Bloody Marie's were very good. Had eggs Benedict. Poached eggs were solid instead of runny. Sausage was very good and potatoes excellent.

Kid-friendliness: No problems with a 2 year old.

I cannot believe the change in this tiny spot with new color scheme, furniture, linen table service, and booth seating. It met all of my expectations for service and food! A wonderful addition to the 'average' dining offerings in Clear Lake!

We sat at the table for over a hour before she finally ask what we wanted for food. Then waited over a hour for our food to come. First waitress maybe stopped 5 times in the first two hours next waitress stopped over 5 times in 15 mins to check on us. If you want to sit inside all day and waste the day away good place to go to. Also seafood ok. Steak you might as well throw it on the grill plain and take it off be about the exact same.
