Monarca Gourmet Paletas

So so so so so so so so so so good. I had the abuelita hot chocolate dipped in chocolate hazelnut with toasted coconut and drizzled with sweetened condensed milk. It was so delicious that I almost dread going back to visit because I will be faced with the terrible decision of repeating this beautiful combo and trying something new.

This place is awesome! They have a bunch of flavors to choose from. Looking forward to coming back and trying some different combinations. Really cool way to do ice cream. Basically an ice cream bar on a stick, you dip, and then add toppings!

This place is sooooo good - a hidden gem that we found thanks to the great Google reviews. We don’t live in Iowa, but make a point to stop here every time we’re in Des Moines!

This was my first time trying Monarca, and it was AMAZING! I got the strawberry cheesecake with dark chocolate and graham cracker crumbs. 10/10! Highly recommend!

Best ice cream in Des Moines!

We decided to try this place out on a whim and we were so happy we did!! They 2 employees working were super nice and patient as they helped us make our selections and they were able to answer our questions about everything since we had never had a paleta before!

I tried the coffee for my base and it was super good! Definitely tasted like an espresso iced coffee and I added some yummies to the top and caramel! My sister got a strawberry cheesecake one I believe and her friend got a peanut butter base with some toppings and condensed milk drizzle!!

Adults - YES they had alcoholic ones too!!! I didn't get to try it but will next time for sure!!!

We tried each others and they were ALL GOOD!! Mine was not as sweet as theirs but they were allll delicious! I definitely recommend! I feel like you can't go wrong with anything you choose.

Also it was nice and clean inside with seating and they have a bathroom in the back if needed.

What a refreshing treat! I ordered the strawberry cheesecake with a dark chocolate drizzle, peanuts, & caramel drizzle. My wife ordered the vanilla paleta dipped in cookie butter, topped with toffee. Hers was superior I will say ?. Very clean establishment. Staff were very polite and helpful. I would certainly come back!
