Traveling by on the interstate and stopped for dinner. Fantastic and authentic burritos. 5 stars all the way.
Small restaurant with a grocery store attached. There were a lot of folks there and it was pretty loud especially with the music. I got veggie tacos which were ok. They say they have avocado and they did not. There was just a slice of tomato on each and refried beans. I also got a mojito Mexicana and did not taste/ feel that there was alcohol in there. The restaurant is wheelchair friendly though the grocery store is not bc the aisles are tight. They have a good selection of hot sauces.
Our daughter’s graduation party was catered by La Mexicana. Many people there complimented the food and asked where we got it from! They were on time, thorough, and professional from the ordering process through the event and clean-up. I would highly recommend their catering services if you’re looking for authentic Mexican food for your event.
After looking at reviews, we decided to try here today as we were passing through. Amazing food and service. The salsa is the best we have had, the pico was made to order. We will be back to try more things when we are in the area again.
ya comi ahí la atención es fea.y pues sus salsa están mal echas y saladas los meseros son groseros y pues no es la última opción para comer

This is now my go to in the Iowa city area for street tacos. The meat is super fresh. Service is significantly better than other notable taco restaurants in the Iowa city area.

This place is one of the best I've been to. My wife and I are Mexican food snobs and this is absolutely great. I had the flautas and she had a tostada. All of the food had the perfect amount of heat and the perfect amount of seasoning. Did not need to add anything. 10/10. Is our place to go in Iowa City from now on!

Food was pretty good, but this was the first Mexican restaurant that I had to pay for chips and salsa. The margarita was the worst that I have ever had.

We stopped in with the team on our road trip home after a competition. Easy access off 218, 380, & 80, and right near the EV charger. Plus it was very convenient for my family in the area to meet up with us there.
The food was delicious and authentic. I’ve never had a quesadilla with the cheese so crispy inside. Amazing. The asada tostadas were fabulous. Everyone loved what they got.
Service was efficient and friendly.
I also love that there is a Mexican grocery store attached with many hard to find specialty items.
We will definitely be back, and so will my local family. Highly recommend!
