I have been in search of a good sushi restaurant since moving here to SE Iowa. Though it has been an arduous search, I believe the hunt is now over as I have found Red Ginger. The establishment is small, clean, well-decorated, and relatively dark. Though some may think "dark" is a mark against it, I fervently disagree. The darker atmosphere creates a more comfortable place where you can focus more on the company you keep than where you keep it. For me, this is a point...

I was looking forward to trying this restaurant. The service was good. We came for lunch at 1:00 and I felt like we were served leftovers. The hot food was not hot. The chicken was overcooked. The sushi was mediocre. The soup was barely warm. The ginger salad dressing had a taste that I didn’t enjoy. It was a bummer.

We thoroughly enjoyed our sushi dinner. Thai iced tea and crab rangoons to start, then we shared 7 rolls with leftovers: California, Philly, sweet potato, and tempura broccoli rolls, Red Ginger roll, Peanut Special roll, and Snow White roll. Would absolutely stop again if the sushi craving hits on our many trips through Iowa!
