Scratch Cupcakery Coralville

When I had moved away years ago one of the places I missed the most was Scratch. When I came here I was so excited to find out how close I was to one and they were as gokd as I had remembered. I always recommend this place to people for cupcakes even buy them for events I go to so people can share in the deliciousness and hopefully come to love them as much as me and my family.

Just mean girls working in this place lol they treat you like you’re the most annoying person for coming in. I wonder what was the reason to work there if they don’t want to deal with customers hahaha. They don’t even greet you when you come in, they look at you and they just keep doing whatever they’re doing. Very poor customer service

Delicious cupcakes with friendly service! The gal working gave me a minute to peruse the options, volunteered the different package sizes available, and boxed up my cupcake selections quickly. Will definitely be back!

We love to visit Scratch Cupcakery when we visit the Iowa City ares. I vote best cupcakes! At $3 a cupcake, I'm glad it's just a special treat on occasion.

Of all of the places I've tried in Iowa City, these, to me, are the best! I've stopped here off and on for years and the service is always friendly. Some places are not friendly 😆
I particularly like their filled cupcakes. The filling really adds to it - no matter the flavor.

Scratch Cupcakes are worth the drive! I stopped at the Coralville, IA location to take some back to Omaha! Been a fan since they opened the first location in Cedar Falls.

So…these are some of the best vegan cupcakes I’ve ever had in my 16 years of veganism…I know they only offer a single vegan flavor each day, and I wish they would offer more, but damn if that one flavor isn’t always the BEST.

The Scratch Cupcakery food truck came to my town. The prices were good, and the cupcakes were yummy. My favorite was easily the red velvet cheesecake cupcake.

Barely got in the door and was waited on. Very pleasant and helpful staff. I drove from Moline Illinois to get a dozen cupcakes as well as my friend. If we didn't know what filling they had, we just asked, and they told us. Great, flavor. Not over rich in sweetness. Would recommend going and trying a few different ones. I always drive up to buy them since we don't have one here in Illinois.

The only reason for the lower food rating is expectations of consistency. One flavor that is usually on the menu for this day, was not. So I went for my second choice which had half the amount of frosting as usual. I can be flexible but when my backup choices arnt how they usually are it becomes disappointing.

I cannot rave enough about these cupcakes. The variety is amazing, and the flavors are even better. Anything with cheesecake is a winner, and I love all the fruit flavors. The cupcakes are moist, unique, flavorful, beautiful, and all at a good price. There are different flavors available each day, too. You can check the Daily Menu on their site, and typically there are a few random others available as well. The cookies are pretty good too but honestly I can rarely justify getting them when the cupcakes are this amazing.

The cupcakes are to die for. I've never been to a bakery that comes close to this. The flavors are amazing. You can tell by the quality the bakers love what they do. Will definitely be back. Will be raving about this joint to others

I want to start with I never write reviews and have worked in the food service industry myself. I normally love Scratch but todays service left much to be desired.

Got there about 30 minutes after opening and there were no cookies and was told they just didn’t put them in and so I asked how long the wait would be and then they told me they weren’t going to be making any for the day. I could understand if they were only gonna be open for another hour but they literally just opened and were just deciding to not carry/make half of their products for the day. Ended up getting a cupcake and tried to get a fork and napkin to eat it and they were completely out so I had to ask for one which was met with an eye roll.
