This place is always friendly, quick and food is absolutely amazing. Honestly prefer it to any other sushi place I’ve been too! :)Kid-friendliness: The staff interact with my kids when we eat in

We went to Sakura for walk-in (no reservation) Hibachi on a Saturday night and only waited 20 minutes which was pretty great in our minds. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive even though it was clear they were short-handed. They did their best with what employees they had and we were grateful for that. Their cocktails were great and very reasonably priced. The hibachi food was excellent and we had plenty to take home for leftovers. There were several other entitled visitors who treated the staff very rudely due to delays, etc. This made us sad to see and want to make it clear that we felt treated very well despite short staffing.

I really enjoyed my experience here at Sakura. I loved my first initial sushi dishes they were the best I’ve had. The hibachi cook did such a good job cooking my food. And the service was one of the best I’ve had in such a long time. So happy I came here I will be

I was there last night with 11 others. We went to the hibachi side. Our cook/server was actually quiet and a little boring. We didn't get any sake shots, no joking, just cooking. He said he had been a hibachi cook for 5 years. As we were eating, a young woman came by to see if we needed boxes, making us feel it was time for us to quit eating. A small Asian woman brought a tub of dirty dishes into the grill area and starting cleaning up the dirty dishes from us, while we were eating, and the group opposite us, throwing the silverware and soup spoons on to our table in front of us while she was gathering the rest of the dishes. The food was adequate, pricing was good, but trying to get a glass of wine or more water was next to impossible. We've been there many times and we've always had fun. Not so much this time. Probably won't be going back for a while.

We decided to stop here for dinner on Black Friday during our cross country road trip. The restaurant is located in the corner of a shopping center on the border between Iowa and Nebraska. Plenty of parking in the lot.The restaurant looks small at first glance but is actually quite large inside. Upon entering they ask if you are there for regular dining or hibachi. Regular dining is in front where there are tables and booths while hibachi is done in the back. We chose regular dining as the theatrics of the hibachi might’ve been a bit too noisy for our baby. Seems like the vibe of the hibachi area was very lively and fun from what I overheard though! We ordered the soft shell crab appetizer, love boat sushi for 2, shrimp fried rice, and seafood udon. Overall, the food was good. Being Japanese American and from California where good Asian food is everywhere, I was pleasantly surprised because while not the best, everything was better than I expected. The soft shell crab appetizer is 2 crabs cut in half (4 pieces) fried in a katsu style with katsu sauce and was good. Love boat sushi did not come in an actual boat (to my disappointment, lol) but there was significant effort put into the presentation. All of the items were decent. Wasabi was neon green colored but surprisingly packed a bit of a punch whereas most fake wasabi tends to be quite weak. Shrimp fried rice was pretty good with a garlic flavor and came with some sort of mayo based sauce on the side (we tried it and it wasn’t bad but didn’t eat it with our rice). Seafood udon was tasty and came with shrimp, scallops, fish cakes, and imitation crab. Not sure why they added the imitation crab as it brought the dish down and there’s already sufficient seafood. Overall the dish was tasty but a bit too salty. The entrees come with either a side of soup or salad. Since we ordered a lot, we were able to get 2 soups and 2 salads. Was expecting miso soup but it was a clear broth with some mushrooms, green onion, and those fried French onions. Not sure if they usually put those in or if they were just left over from thanksgiving green bean casserole lol. I’ll just say that it was interesting. Ginger salad dressing was good.Service was decent except at the end the waiter kept asking us if we wanted boxes when we were still eating which gave the impression that they were trying to get us out of there. I get it if you are about to close but there was still time left before closing and people were still getting seated so we weren’t holding them up. Noticed a good amount of baby high chairs and booster seats but no baby changing table in the restroom. Just FYI if you have a baby like I do.

My go-to for both sushi and fried rice in Council Bluffs. Service is always top-tier and the ambiance makes one feel very at home.

We ate lunch here today. We both ordered hibachi dinners which included soup and salad. We also ordered crab Rangoon. Crab Rangoon is a favorite of mine so I was greatly disappointed when it arrived at the table and was dripping with oil. Gross. The hibachi combination I ordered shrimp and chicken and they were overpowered by too much sauce and the vegetables were over cooked.Very few customers. Front door was filthy. Server was good. Most likely will not try again.

I know inflation has hit all of us but for 7 pcs of shrimp and 8 cubes of steak and with fried rice for 28 bucks is a ridiculously overpriced dining experience. Never again here. Also service was less than desirable.
