Absolutely delighted with this adorable cafe! So yummy!!
We loved Cafe d'Marie! The house and garden are beautiful. Both the mushroom and asparagus soups were creamy and delicious, the sandwiches were great, and the chocolate and lemon cakes were incredible. We really enjoyed the selection of teas as well. The garden was such a beautiful setting, and since we were on the late side of lunch, we had it to ourselves after a while. We were on the way to Colorado and would definitely take the side trip again.
Went here for the first time today and we were very excited to finally try it! Food and coffee were good, but service was really bad to the point we probably won’t go back despite enjoying what we ordered. When my husband went to pay he was stuck for over 5 minutes as the worker kept talking to the person in front of him. By that point it was past closing for the cafe and my lunch break was over. When he finally spoke up the person behind the register acted rude and inconvenienced because he interrupted her conversation. They should be happy he didn’t just walk out without paying considering how long they made him wait. It was also unclear we had to go to the register to pay because we were never given a bill and were ignored a good portion of our meal, being put in the back room. Based on other reviews (Google) it sounds like they consistently treat new customers poorly, but will bend over backwards for regulars. So I guess if you go repeatedly and endure the poor service you’ll eventually be treated properly.
We stopped through on the way back home to Ohio and the people were warm and welcoming! Food and drinks were delicious too, must recommend!
Highly recommend! Wonderful people and phenomenal food! If you haven't checked this place out I highly recommend, hands down the best cafe I've ever been to!
We are in town for a graduation and stopped here at Cafe d’Marie for brunch. All I can say is WOW!!!! I’m gluten free to often times I can’t get the yummy treats. Well, I just experienced the best gluten free cinnamon roll of my life. On top of that - the fantastic food was made even better by the fantastic owners and staff. They made us feel so welcomed. We are from Minneapolis and experience a lot of restaurant options. I wish we had Cafe d’Marie closer to home! When we are near Davenport, we will make the trip here!
The brussels sprout soup is so delicious. The pastries are fantastic

Gluten Free options were great! I had a gluten free Cafe d’Marie style Muffaletta paninis - 1/2 sandwich and small salad. And since it was Friday and I don’t eat meat on Friday, it was a fantastic vegetable and cheese option. The server was kind and sweet and knew right away about the gluten free options. The soups sounded wonderful but were not gluten free. Everything on the menu looked grand. My friend enjoyed her lunch option also. We couldn’t eat dessert because we were so full - but they looked good too! The atmosphere was calming and welcoming. I really enjoyed the entire experience. It had been ages since I have had the choice of a gluten free sandwich. I was in Heaven!!!

While traveling through Davenport, my family and I stumbled upon Café d'Marie thanks to Google Maps. Tucked away behind a charming exterior draped in vines, it might be a bit tricky to spot, but finding this café is a delightful reward.
Once inside, we were greeted by a warm, inviting atmosphere filled with framed napkins and a guestbook showcasing kind words from previous visitors. The service was impressively friendly and fast, making us feel right at home.
The food was fantastic, featuring a unique blend of American dishes with a European twist. The green surroundings added to the café's charm, creating a peaceful dining experience. If you're ever in the area, don't miss Café d'Marie—it's a hidden gem that truly feels like a family gathering.
(I ordered a quiche and inhaled it before a picture could be taken! Regardless, enjoy the pictures of Café d'Marie)

Wow! Just wow! My husband and I discovered this place after a Google search. We wanted a place that served breakfast/brunch, was reasonably priced, local, and unique... This place checked all those boxes and then some!
My husband had the Scarlet herbal tea with garden salad and raspberry chipotle, turkey, and provolone panini, while I had the peach, pear, and apricot smoothie; quiche du jour (bacon, artichoke, and spinach); and garden salad with their signature blueberry, feta, vinaigrette. We also split a cup of their soup du jour (cream of cauliflower). For dessert my husband had their dark chocolate and sour cream cake with a dark chocolate, hazelnut mocha, while I had their signature bread pudding (peach and almond) with their Mandarin citrus white tea.
All of the food exceeded both our expectations, which was hard, as once we stepped inside, we had huge expectations. When you drive up to this beautifully-renovated mansion, one thinks, "This'll be really good." Then when one walks inside and gets a feel for the ambiance, looks through a photo album of their renovation progress, reads the history of the restaurant (if one finds themselves with a little wait for a table), and smells the food being served in the background, one's anticipation and expectations get higher.
Then when we got a table and got to soak in all the details of the buildings history and architecture, we thought, "This'll be good, but there's no way they could live up to our now built-up expectations." We were so wrong, as everything we made tasted great, and we could tell they made it with love.
And the icing on the cake... The owners came out and talked to us and genuinely cares for our experience and beamed with pride as they told us about their place as it is now and their future plans.
We highly recommend this restaurant. You won't be disappointed.

Best. Cafe. Ever. Amazing quiche, paninis, soups, coffees, and teas. Takes a bit to get in the door but it's absolutely worth it!
Great food, service was not fast, but we were not in a rush. Would never have found it if I wasn't meeting someone!
