“Alex treated us right at his fine mead establishment. After a glass of the purple moon, we couldn’t resist the urge to enjoy a flight of five other meads, which we throughly enjoyed. This is the best mead we have ever had and the beer is amazing too. Bootleg offers a cozy atmosphere with live music and great selection of music afterwards. We received a private viewing of the amazing grand Mississippi River too. Although we were just passing through, we will be back. We highly recommend Bootleg Hill Honey Meads. Oh, and did I mention they are one of three Meaderies in the State? Thanks Alex!”

“Just got home from a wonderful evening at Cavort. We started with a drink and a beer. Both were excellent. Moved on to the nachos. We were going to eat half and take the rest home. None came home and they were fabulous. Had chicken piccata and PT chicken; both were beyond expectations. Topped things off with the caramel cake; awesome! Best meal ever in Davenport! Our waitress was so special as well. We will be returning soon. Thanks to our son for the gift card and for supporting the owners/his friends!”

“I was introduced to Eddy’s with the Super Saiyon (sp?) sandwich, and never looked back. After many of these tasty delights, I had ramen for the first time. Real ramen, not the 10 cent stuff. Katsu pork, spicy, straight up how they make it. Now it’s going to be a while before I can get something else. It was super comforting for some reason. The servers were great and add to the charm of the place. We may make this our Sunday routine. Around the Bears of course.”

“My fiancé moved to Davenport a little over two years ago and when I visited he took me to Cafe d’Maries for a date. As a former barista and a picky coffee drinker, I was impressed with The White Rose latte. The white chocolate with raspberry did not have an overpowering sweetness to it and did not taste very syrupy. It had the perfect balance of espresso to flavoring ratio. One of the best cups of coffee I’ve had! The blueberry scone was so soft and fresh. The Portobello soup was delicious as well! We highly recommend this little spot and will be coming back soon!!”

“Sometimes there sold out of cookies. But that’s ight. The employees seem sad sometimes. But that’s probably because they have to deal with some crappy customers. They also have another option if there out of a cookie, or will compensate somehow. The one thing that I’m not a big fan of, is sometimes the store looks a bit dirty. Otherwise, the employees try their best, and the cookies are pretty good. If they have them.”

“I only recently discovered this place as this was only our 2nd time here. I didn't even know it existed until the gas station attendant at the Shell down at the end of this strip mall here told me about it, and glad he did! They have Many of the fun and wonderful flavors of a classic ice cream shop that you'd expect as well as a few of their own unique blends! I love that they have the classically great Banana Split Sundae as well as several other Sundaes to choose from. All of the different Cone options and waffle bowls to choose from as well. As well as Milk shakes, Malts, Ice cream sandwiches, and even an ice cream pie can be ordered which looks super Delicioso! ????
The kids that work their, (teenagers), all seem to have great, friendly attitudes and very helpful! So refreshing of course for these days, lol. ???? I was really blessed with their customer service skills both of these 2 visits here.
This visit I went with the Brownie Underneath Sundae with one scoop of vanilla ice cream, hot fudge and she put whipped cream, chopped nuts and a cherry on top as well and it presented beautifully to me by her as I watched this girl take her time to make it so nice for me. ???
It was good, but not great I will have to say for taste for this particular Sundae though, only because the little brownies were just the most Bland, not very chocolatey tasting brownies ever. Like something very cheap tasting.. which was real disappointing as this little one scoop, small scoop size too, cost $8. There was not enough ice cream at all in that tiny scoop size that she gave me to counter-act the very poor quality brownie taste I was having to work with.
I was expecting just one good-sized, quality tasting, fudgey, chewy Brownie to be in this Sundae for the price but it was not, unfortunately.. so I would definitely not recommend that particular Sundae of theirs as I definitely will not be getting that one again, But, the place as a whole is still pretty Great in my opinion y'all! ????????

One suggestion to the owner: The "atmosphere" part of my review here is that it has a nice atmosphere due to the great customer service and the Fun of just getting Ice Cream, lol!, but, it was also kind of awkard both times there due to the fact that people seemed to really want to hang out and actually Eat their Whitey's treats Inside of or right Outside of this place But, there is Not One table or Any chairs at all, so these people were just standing around, leaning against walls or wherever and trying to enjoy their purchased treats There, but with No where to actually just be at to Stay and not look awkward doing it... please think about fixing this for your customers that obviously Like your products ma'am or sir. That is all. ???

A line out the door and fully stacked inside, and I was next in line in under 10 minutes. No drive-up window; you have to go inside.
Nice large patio with seating outside, but there is *zero* shade.
If you're a fan of chocolate malts, Whitey's makes them the old-fashioned way: using vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup, and malt. Really kicks up the flavor a notch over places that cheat by using chocolate ice cream.
Prices fairly comparable to other ice cream shops I've visited.”

“The review says, "what can I recommend about Duck City"...The answer to that, is everything. There is not one thing on the menu not worth getting. The Chef greets you, checks in on you. The wait staff is so attentive. Drinks were refilled, bread and butter kept coming. My meal was as if God robed himself in flesh and plated my meal. I cannot understand how the food tastes the way it does, because I can assure you, nothing I make at home ever tastes like what I have had at Duck City. I was also surprised that the cheesecake was only $6! It was delicious. Usually we don't get dessert because we hate spending another $10-$15 but for $6, it truly was the cherry on top of an already perfect meal. The atmosphere is so laid back, kind of an eclectic use of decor. This is THE best restaurant in the QC, no competition. I just. I can't say enough about this place. If you live in the Quad Cities, you have to go at least once.”

We feel that ease of communicating with the company could be improved. We also had a buffet style wedding with a server present. The turkey leg was mouth-watering, the smoked mac-n-cheese unique in an amazing way, and the brisket was so tender it practically melted, but held its form in a fork…I don’t know how they did that. And finally, the collard greens with their hint of acidity offered the perfect balance to the sweetness of the barbecue flavors elsewhere. Bon appétit!”

It's worth the trip A 2 hour drive to celebrate any special occasion. Children eat for 2.99 on Mondays. Steak Shrimp Fried Catfish salad bar and desserts from cheese cake to cotton candy.
