My mother and I have been going to this restaurant for years. SHE, loves it. Village Inn on locust and Harrison is closed for remodeling. So I came by the Family Restaurant to get my girlfriend biscuits and gravy because she gets up every morning and makes me coffee. I brought them home and surprised her with watery gravy and doughy biscuit's. Severely unsatisfied. They were disgusting. I don't know how they can sell these things on a consistent basis and not get complaints / change the recipe. Negative stars no stars devoid of stars, As a matter of fact they owe me some stars. I would not recommend anything this establishment puts lemon in their Boston cream pie. The best food I had there was mediocre and it wasn't a lot of the food I had. They can handle anything that comes out of the fryer

I regret this review, as I'm predisposed to liking this restaurant. However, they removed cheese from their omelets. They now taste dry with just an egg taste. Wish they wouldn't compromise on quality; it a form of "shrinkflation." I know of another local eatery that just raised prices by a dollar and left their quality intact. That's more attractive to me.
