Fuji and Pho Café, 1417 W. Locust St., Davenport - During a Jan. 18 visit, a Scott County inspector cited this establishment for nine violations, including a failure to separate raw meat from ready-to-eat food, risking cross-contamination. In addition, several food products were stored on the floor and the inspector found grapefruit juice that had expired months earlier, on Oct. 3, 2023. Some food items were being held at room temperature although their labels stated, "Refrigerate after opening." The inspector also observed that a cooler in the kitchen was keeping food at temperatures of 44 degrees to 52 degrees, rather than 41 degrees or colder; a can of ant and roach spray was stored with canned goods; and the ice machine and dish machine were marred by "dust, debris and gunk." Also, raw shrimp were left sitting out to thaw at room temperature; mouse droppings and dead cockroaches were observed on the premises; and some unspecified, single-use food-service items were stored on the floor. "Numerous areas of the floors, walls and ceilings" were marred by dust, debris and gunk, the inspector reported.

I just heard this place got shut down. I ate there the other day and it sounds like it was my last.

The food was amazing. The atmosphere could be updated to reflect a more modern space. Still cute and date worthy. we will definitely return. Service was good.

Called at 8:40 to place a to go order for two rolls. Got told they are no longer taking to go orders. Asked if I could just come in to place the order and got hung up on. So I went there and the open sign was still on. Went in and was told the kitchen was closed. Told him he should probably change his closing time so people don’t try to order. Your closing time should be when you stop taking orders. Asked what time I should put in my google review and he said he would do it for me tonight since I only wanted two rolls. While I waited the phone rang, he answered and yelled. “I can’t hear you” and hung up. Food is great, prices not so much especially for the kind of service you get….

I hate to say it because I use to love this place but the last few times I've been here my experience was not good today was my last time giving it a chance the hibachi dinner was literally cold the steak is always chewy and the chicken and veggies had a very weird taste didn't even eat it and was to scared to say anything because the manager is mean the fire dragon roll which I get every time was just okay and I always only get my drink refilled once if that plus it doesn't sit right with me that they add gratuity to all party sizes never seen that before normally that's for bigger tables like 6+ normally this isn't a problem for me I'm a server myself and always tip good but there is no service here Food- 1 star (bc sushi was edible) Service- 1 star (only bc he is nice) Ambiance- 0 stars

So I was all set for a nice lunch. Until the check came. 3 people. $56 before taxes. The check came with an automatic 20% tip. I double checked the Menu and the door and all over to make sure I didn't miss a sign. No. They did not disclose that they charge a 20% gratuity on all checks. In addition now there will be a 3.5% discount for cash. No. They list cash prices and charge extra for using the card. My $56 plus tax lunch for three turned into $76. And then there was an additional line in the receipt for yet another gratuity... For What?!?! I didn't dispute the credit card charge. They worded it badly but they did disclose it, kinda.... however, if you are charging an automatic tip you have to disclose it. When I said no, they told me they already finalized the charge. They only refunded it, in cash, when I told them I would dispute it with my credit card and broke out my camera to document the menu and disclosures. It's sad honestly. I work in a tipped industry. I know and value that little bit of extra appreciation. Usually I don't argue when there is an automatic tip, if it is disclosed. This was a surprise, and not an appreciated one. The food was good. But. Not again. I get it that money is tight. But be honest. Don't hide fees. No surprises. Fuji lost a customer.

Food was okay. Automatic 18% gratuity is ridiculous, there were only two of us.Will never eat here again. A tip is earned, not automatic.

Food wasn't good at all. The 18% automatic tip just meant our server did t come back to the table , except to collect the check . Place is quite small and not very clean . Under the tables look like they hadn't been cleaned in a week
