My husband and I live little over an hour away. We enjoy coming to the quad cities often. We by chance decided to try out Monarch Kitchen + Bar based off of their rating. All I can say is I am so impressed. Impressed with the care and quality of food. The wait staff are amazing.
I am a person who doesn’t use seed oils at home. To know I can go out and eat somewhere and know the ingredients are fresh and good for you means everything.
We stayed two days and ate there for lunch and came back the next day for dinner. We loved the lo mein and the garlic aioli fries, but honestly everything we tried was amazing. It is now our new favorite restaurant in the quad cities. We will definitely be back and will tell our friends. Thank you for making our trip even more special!

Best, AFORDABLE restaurant in town! Bass Street Chop House and Duck City, used to be tied for my best, but they are WAY TOO EXPENCIVE! Monarch is righ up there with their quality and selection, as wells their service, but at a FRACTION of the cost! I used to be 100% Vegan, now more like 75% ( It is hard to keep up)! Monarch has a Vegetarian plate that changes every 2-3 weeks, which is mostly Vegan, and all the dishes are fantastic, which keeps me coming back! I have hosted many dinner parties at Monarch, and all my gusts have asked to keep coming back for more! My only negative is that, at peak times, the atmosphere can become very noisy, but again, that is because everyone is having a great conversation and keeping off their phones! Appertly, they are known for their steaks, I would not know, as I try to stay Vegan, but I have tried their Hamburger and it is FANTASTIC. When you order fries with that, be prepared for 10 pouds of them! They also have a great bar if you are interested.

Absolutely excellent food that happens to come with a great atmosphere. It looks stark on the outside, but it’s very warm and inviting on the inside. I had the salmon and I wish I took a picture.
Monarch never disappoints, we usually go out to lunch instead of dinner and love that we don't leave feeling like we missed out on dinner items. In addition to their great mainstays, they incorporate amazing seasonal menu items like morel and shell, the best beef stroganoff I have ever eaten, and devine liver mouse. Cocktail and wine menu are top notch. A great variety for those who want a light meal as well as those looking for something hardier.

Trendy local one of a kind place which is very popular. The ahi tuna poke bowl was fresh, but the tuna was mush, more like a paste than chunks. The grilled plantation and barrette was ok. The kimche fries were (as explained to me after they arrived) shoe string cut French fries with crushed fired kimche flakes, which were Tasty.
