Have gotten takeout here many times. Always tastes great. Have never eaten in before. Prices have increased much more than expected over the years.

It smells amazing every time! My mom said best hot ham and cheese she ever eaten (she is 74) My husband says the best meatball he has ever eaten (56 years of meatball sandwiches) My grandson loves the spaghetti and trust me, he is 6 and does not eat many things. As for me, the gondi is soooooo good. Treat yourself to a piece of baklava while you are there because it is awesome! This is a new regular spot for all of us and we all grew up with Avanti, but I love your food much more. I can not express the friendliness and quality of the food. A wonderful atmosphere!

It’s not elevated Italian but it’s good! On par with Olive Garden but less expensive. I don’t know why so many people hate on this place. I’m in Davenport once a quarter and always drive by this place. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I would def bring my family here because everyone could find something good to eat. Like I said, nothing fancy but a good dinner. I had the toasted beef ravioli, spaghetti and meatballs, salad with Italian dressing, and cinnamon bread. It was $26! The bread was meh, but I should have gone for the cheese bread, that’s on me. The only feedback I could offer is to salt the pasta water. The pasta itself had ZERO flavor, which sucks when you run out of sauce. They also support rescue animals and it’s nice to give my money to a local business. In the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger, I’ll be back!

Grinders is one of those spots the everyone is going to like.
Their menu items have the home made / hand cut and selected flavors we all enjoy.
Something as simple as their lettuce salad shines through with select and hand cut vegetables available with a simple house made dressing, a light but tasty, blend of oil, vinegar infused with Italian herbs and spices.
The pasta dishes I tried where very good and flavorful.
The two pasta meals I had would be perfect for a date night, one ordering Manicotti which is filled with Ricotta Cheese and the other ordering Cannelloni which is filled with Italian Sausage, then each could have one Cheese and one Meat ( each dish is two stuffed tubes ).
The Meatballs were obviously hand made as was the Italian sausage that was actually a Italian Patty ( like a elongated burger and made with a mixture of Beef and Pork ) And ever dish, that is ordered with red sauce, shared the same hardy Meat Sauce. Even the Bread is store cooked and can be order with Plain, with Garlic,
Covered with Melted Cheese or both.
All the flavors across the board are muted. Most likely to satisfy the masses, but they never lose the care and thought that goes into their recipes. They deserve you trying them for yourself.
I believe everyone will find something they enjoy ( remember those sandwiches ??? )

I was hungry for spaghetti and googled where to get a good meal. Boy I sure wasn’t disappointed! It was so good I should have gotten the family size. I will definitely be back when passing thru this area again.
When I got in the van with my order my dog went nuts he wanted his own share! It was funny, he had quite the spaghetti beard!

Grinders is your traditional neighborhood eatery with wholesome pasta/sandwich options and wonderful owner-provided service. Went with my family ready to dine, spent half of what I thought I would, enjoyed very well seasoned/cheesed options, and walked out with leftovers. Wife loved the pork BBQ sandwich, kids devoured the beef ravioli, and couldn't get enough of their freshly baked cheesy garlic bread (yes, they bake their own bread). Definitely will visit again with the fam.

Haven't had in years and was looking forward to it but the experience I had tonight I will not be back . Order was wrong , called and told them and lady said she would put our order up for next time or come back up to get . Well ordering a ham and cheese on garlic bread and not even getting that but instead got a full load of garlic cheese bread isn't a ham and cheese sandwich . Owner must of been having a bad day as he was rude a pretty much called me a liar . The spaghetti I ordered was just noodles and sauce with no meat and was also watery at that. Il go next door to Subway least they make the same your way
