The service was excellent. And the food was good. But absolutely nothing stood out as being excellent. Just another average Mexican restaurant. The guacamole was very bland and so was the enchilada sauce.

#41 Chori-pollo is the best thing on the menu so yum with corn tortillas + guacamole on the side to put in it. If you’re feeling extra throw on some of the queso too

Very friendly & caring to their customers and they get the food out very quick— even when they’re busy! The best Mexican food you’ll ever have!! We love going to Don Jose!!

oh my goodness everyone here is so nice super fast and extremely tasty food. I cannot believe this is in Iowa! I can’t wait until the renovation happens further to be upstairs!!!

Don Jose never disappoints , always wonderful food and plenty of it ! The people that work there are outstanding in every way possible ... truly top notch ! The pricing is extremely reasonable as well ! There have been a couple of times we have had to wait for a table and wait we did because it is so worth it !

We had an amazing patio experience while in town for a wedding. Would definitely go back, the host and all the staff were so very kind and I am thankful we decided to go there!

Grate food grate service ?

Coming from Arizona 12 years ago, this is comparable to the Mexican Food we would get there. We have not found another place that is even close here in Iowa. We highly recommend Don Jose's.

Always really good food and service is unbeatable. Unfortunately, I now have to drive over an hour to go, but, worth the drive!

Everything was great, food was amazing, the staff was friendly, the place was clean, and the food came out at an efficient time…i felt as if the staff went above and beyond for my child as well…they made sure her plate wasn’t hot as the plates usually come out very hot, they even gave my daughter her own water cup without ice without having to ask!! restaurants rarely acknowledged my toddler so that was nice
the vibes are also so cute !!
