New owners have really turned the place around over the years!
I remember going in there before and being put off by some of the creepy gamer types that would sit there all day and game on their computers. One of them even asked for MY number to set up his AppleID.....what?????
So glad they cleared them out so that this is now a comfortable environment for people.
Very sweet little shop in downtown Decorah! Tasty coffee and good service! Would recommend if you enjoy a nice hometown coffee shop!

The young lady with glasses was friendly and helped to make a customized drink for my non coffee drinking husband. I got a con miel lattee when ch was good but sweet. I really liked her going out of her way to service me!

Great coffee and a great atmosphere. People were really nice! And best of all, the coffee has some power to it, so the rest of your day will go perfectly.

We were hosting a reception for twenty-five people and wanted to have an assortment of desserts to add to the menu. Ordering bars and cookies was the absolutely right choice. Our guests loved the treats and it was the perfect pairing with our menu. If you need desserts for your gathering, I highly recommend Java John's!

The chicken salad salad (ie not the sandwich:) was superb with lots of good toppings. Their bacon asparagus quiche was also very good as were their lattes. They have a porch which is fine if you have your furry friend, but the the indoor restaurant was very inviting.
Probably the worst coffee shop out of all of them in Decorah. The owner is really rude aswell. Recommend only if you like being chased right back out.
The waffle breakfast and coffee were really good.
