The atmosphere is very nice and private for being as open as the place is. We did wait to be seated for a bit as there were not many workers/servers. Then we waited at our table for about 20 to 25 minutes before we got water. We order the food and drinks when the server came.

✨ Attentive service & awesome food quality ✨It was a pleasant surprise to find a fresh sushi place in Iowa!Kirin draft was amazing, Ceviche was delicious, Happy hour rolls and sushi were small portion, but reasonably priced and fresh!We ordered 8 dishes (+ 1 extra sushi plate on the house ?) & 2 draft beer during happy hour, the bill was less than $100.Everyone including the host, waitress, chef, and manager were very nice and friendly.Overall, very pleasant experience.Kid-friendliness: My picky 2-year-old loved the kid’s bento box! We finished the majority of it because of the big portion size :)A high chair and kid’s coloring materials were provided very promptly.A kid friendly chopstick was brilliant.

Our waitress Katherine was amazing and very helpful. My girlfriend has a dairy allergy and Katherine made sure everything was dairy free and what other options we could chose to replace the dairy with. 10 out of 10.
I gave 2 stars for service because I don't think they have much staff. I know that in many establishments, many employees call out, and probably, this place is no exception. So, please be patient with the waitress. The booths are too low, and you sink in the seats.The wait time for food is a bit too long. Other than that, food is good. The prices on plates are not bad. I avoid going there weekends in the evening. Then again, I avoid that part of town in the weekends.

The food was not the quality I expected considering the reputation, but I went at lunchtime and maybe I always dealing with the second string chefs. The rice felt dry, the yellowtail was of a very poor quality (felt mushy) and the shrimp was flavorless. The truffle salmon was the worst of all, it was overly sweet to the point I couldn't even taste the fish.The other issue I had was the customer service. I was eating along, during a very slow time, and for some reason the waiter just let dishes pile up. It ended up covering half my table.

Food was good but a bit pricier that I'm used to given that the rolls were smaller than what I'm used to. Salmon sashimi was good, but, again pricier than the norm for the quantity. I would've preferred Sapporo over Kirin but not a deal breaker. Oddly, what I really liked was the sake carafe. It was comfortable in the hand and poured well. Service was very good
