I'm biased because I've been going here for years. Always fun to take people here who have never been, 95% love it and the other 5% are people you shouldn't be hanging out with. Great for playing darts.
We have not been here, but the staff is welcoming and accommodating. The service is outstanding. We come here to have drinks every Monday evening and it is without fail consistent and really cool. Of course, as the name may, it is an Irish pub or tavern if you will and caters to Irish beers and drinks. They have a peril for sale that is top-notch not some cheesy thing to take your money. My husband and I love stopping by Cooney’s on our date nights to enjoy their (free!) darts and good drinks. The bartender is always very professional and friendly and the atmosphere is that of a nice Irish pub/ elevated dive. The setup inside with the dart lane and other cozy seating is nice for a date night. This is easily our favorite bar in the Urbandale area and when you’re there, you can sense there are a lot of regulars and it is a well-loved staple on Beaver!
