Holy cow - this place is such a surprise! I've been there twice now. I really feel like you could eat there every day for 3 weeks and try something new each time. They can make almost anything on the menu vegan, and it is SO incredibly delicious. Try the vegan birria tacos. The only thing I wasn't blown away by was the fries - pretty basic, but honestly, fries are not why I am there! Their sauces, their soy meats...all so good. El Michoacano makes me want to move...
Classic Taqueria with absolutely amazing vegetarian/vegan options. Check their website for all the meat options for every dish. Staff is nice and helpful. I recommend this place to anyone looking for texmex flavors.

El Michoacano is one of the absolute best restaurants I have eaten at in Iowa. I spent over a decade in San Antonio and could not for many years after moving to Iowa, enjoy such authentic taste at a taqueria -until I discovered this restaurant by my son's invitation.
This is now my absolute favorite restaurant, the food is always served freshly prepared and hot, reasonably priced for such generous portions as well and the staff have always been friendly and welcoming....
