Jack’s is my favorite bar on the south side! All of the staff are so excellent and are nothing but kind to me when I come in. Their fries and mini corn dogs are the best in Des Moines! The corn dogs even beat the state fair’s because of the high quality chicken glizzies used. I highly recommend Jack’s Place to anyone looking for great drinks, excellent food, and low prices!

Soooooo. We were very excited to check this place out. From the moment we walked in, we regretted our decision. The place has potential but didn't meet our lowest expectations. The staff were all vaping and or drinking at the bar. We went up to the bar to order our first drinks and app because nobody greeted us for quite some time. The bartender was the only one hustling; unfortunately while the bartender took our order, she hit her vape about 4 times (gross). The food was meh. No silverware was provided. We left half of our food and drinks to cash out. As we were cashing out an employee was making crude comments about anal sex. We will not be back which is sad because again this place has great potential of being a DSM dive bar.
