They changed their coleslaw which is very disappointing, it used to be my favorite.
This place does hold lots of memories for me though. I have been going here since I was little, I'm nearly 50. I still go here off and on when I make it to Des Moines around lunch time.
Story has it it was a restaurant back in the 50s. It would be interesting to know for sure.

I just like LJS. Only fish I really like. Nice having it once in a while.
We went through the drive through. We were treated very poorly! We had a long wait! When we tried to get the attention of the worker inside the driver-thru, she just waved at us. Eventually she finally brought our order over. When we got home there was a long hair in our order right on our chicken!!!

This place was a child hood favorite of mine it saddens me that it has gone so very down hill and for the price you might as well go to a decent pub for fish and chips because its going to cost about the same to do so the employees are always very very rude and the service is insanely slow

I ordered a 3 feet, chicken and 2 fish with an extra fish. I'm very disappointed the chicken. It was so small, and one of it wasn't even a piece of chicken. It was crumble, definitely not worth almost twenty dollars
