The salsa is below average and the red sauce taste like chile pepper and water. The picture was taken right we sat down. Dirty.

We DoorDash from here and when we did the restaurant ended up giving us one burrito with chicken instead of steak that is gray and tasted boiled and expired and when we ordered our desserts we ordered a fried ice cream and chocolate cake instead we got two orders of heart-shaped churros that we did not ask for so if you want food that you didn't ask for and very low quality for an expensive price this is the place to go!!!

Friendly atmosphere, music was kept at a reasonable volume, and both the drinks and food were absolutely fantastic, try the lengua you won't regret it

I am very upset that this restaurant adds an auto gratuity for a party of 4. This was not communicated as I didn't expect this nor noticed this on the bill and I added a 20% tip on top of the auto gratuity. Its not the amount of the tip as the server did a good job of taking care of us. But customers should not be forced to tip a server (with maybe the exception of a large party) as the gratuity is a measurement of the service rendered. But at the very least, this must be verbally communicated to each table. Not happy at all about this practice.

Los Laureles is hands down my favorite restaurant to dine in at. I've had almost everything on their menu and have not been disappointed.

Food came out instantly and was fresh. Alot of places get the chimichanga wrong and over fry it this was perfectly cooked. Open till midnight. If I come back to Des Moines I'm eating here again.

Average food. Minimal service. Had to up and go to the bar to get our second beer. We were one of three tables in the place at 4ish. Wife liked the hard taco shells. Chips and salsa out of the box, thus cold and bland.
Multi tvs each on a separate station with the volume up which was odd. Will continue the hunt elsewhere.

We had chicken enchiladas mole and pork guisado...both were very good. The rice and beans were about what you would expect to get at Mexican restaurant, nothing extraordinary but good...the salsa too - that came with the chips - was good but rather thin...the service was very good and the prices we thought were very reasonable...the parking lot was a bit of a challenge...there's not much room there... it seemed like there was a lot of people going in and out (lunch hour)because there's a lot of retail spaces there...so let the parkers beware! Side note: The mural on the building next door is fabulous...whoever painted that is a fantastic artist...

10 steak tacos & 1 steak burrito just about $50, evething was very blind stake was chewy appeared to be old,no seasoning what so ever after. I called to see if they can credit me some type of way. I was told there's nothing they can do because the manager is not there. Definitely do NOT recommend dining in or takeout! Times are hard as it is and for people to take your money and not give you what you paid for Is unacceptable for me. NEVER will I spend my hand earned coins at Los Laureles again!
