“Just had dinner at Hugo’s. The Arugala salad with pear was delicious. Our pork, apple butter, white sauce pizza was really good too. We had a bottle of Barbazola wine from Mt Edna, thoroughly enjoyed everything! Service was great, nice weather, what more can you ask for???!!“

“We ate here for our anniversary during restaurant week and it was a great experience. We felt celebrated and appreciated the complimentary wine. The food was phenomenal- especially the arugula was and the pork and polenta. The only downside: the 70 year olds next to us who were very shouty- but perhaps their hearing aids could not accommodate. Will definitely be back!“

“We stopped in for lunch and got a fish, chicken and two sambusas. The food was great! It was our first time there and everything was delicious. As of June 2020, there was some construction on the road in front of the restaurant that might make it a little hard to find (or easy to miss) but it is worth the effort because the food is excellent. ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“

“Ordered the falafel plate (without feta) and an extra pita (because I like carbs) via Uber Eats to my hotel room. The grilled pita was soft, warm, and delicious. The falafel was decent, not the best I've ever had. I wish it had a little more hummus on it. The salad it came with was tasty; I liked the dressing. Overall, it hit the spot and I wanted another one as soon as I was done. Updated from previous review on 2024-10-31“

“First time going to Pita Pit, and I was blown away by the quality of the food. Everything tasted fresh and tasted so good. Service was fast and friendly, waited only a few minutes. Atmosphere left a bit to be desired, but it was clean and comfortable enough. Highly recommend.“

“I will start by saying I am a self proclaimed “picky eater”. I don't like trying new places or new food. As a result, I don't usually leave reviews or have strong feelings about restaurants. This, however, is a place that I really feel I need to talk about….
We live 2 hrs away and this restaurant is constantly on our mind. Whenever we make a trip to, or near, Des Moines, we make a point to stop at our favorite restaurant. We will drive out of our way to make sure the Green Olive is always part of our visits. Ordering “to-go” to bring back home is a regular occurrence!
Personally its always very intimidating to try a new place, and I was reluctant at first. Now we are planning our trips around making sure we can stop here!
I always get their Beef Kabobs. And omg the Feta Fries? We were practically fighting over them 💜. My partner loves the lamb! The man who can eat everything, always leaves feeling full. We both do. This is a family restaurant you cannot miss. I cannot say enough good things, my only complaint is that they are not closer to home! But that's not a deal‐breaker for us, this place is worth the trip, EVERY TIME.“
