Truman’s Down Town - We ordered lunch for the office and I today. I ordered a Fiesta Chicken Salad. I read the ingredient list to my self as I am allergic to avocado I did not see that so I was safe. I opened the salad and took the ranch container out to see some guacamole on the bottom. I thought. Maybe it was a fluke and ate my salad. I got to the end and found mounds of Guacamole throughout the salad that I had eaten…. I called Truman’s and I asked If their Fiesta Chicken Salad came with Avocado and she said yes. I asked why their online menu doesn’t say that and she rudely said that it did. I told her that I was looking at the discription and it did not say that. She replied rudely she would look. She checked and said “well I guess we will have to get that changed”. No offer to make things right, no asking if I was okay, nothing.
I will say if you do not have food allergies the food is good, atmosphere is fun, but this rubbed me wrong.

Funky pizza joint in the East Village in Des Moines. Pizza is delicious. Great wings. Onion rings are wonderful. Wide selection of beer, with Midwest breweries well represented. A great choice for a meal.

I am a Missouri girl, so I love this place. Food is good, Decent drink selection and breakfast options. Great service. However, the AC wasn't working well, so it was a bit stuffy.

Every time we go to Truman’s, the service is absolutely exceptional. The manager, waitstaff, and especially the bartenders always go above and beyond to make us feel welcome. I’m completely in love with their cheeseballs. Honestly, everything I’ve tried on the menu so far has been fantastic. Truman’s has become our go-to spot, and we can’t recommend it enough!

Prices are good, food was good! Went there for bottomless mimosas and was less than impressed. Between 2 of us, they only brought out 1 bottle of champagne. And then they charged me for 2 bottomless mimosas when we asked for another bottle. When I brought it to the servers attention, she said we only get 1 bottle per person for bottomless mimosas. So $20 for a bottle? It states that nowhere on the menu or online. Food also took more than an hour to come out with only being checked on once during that time. At the end, the server messed up 3 out of the 4 tabs which were all pretty easy tabs.

Feels clean, unlike many local sports bars. Comfortable neighborhood pub feel. Friendly prompt service. Very good pizza, and GREAT onion rings! The onions were sliced thinly with a light breading that stayed on the onion. The homemade ranch was tasty. The Friday $1 off local beer was not reflected on the bill but the waitress pointed us to the daily special of salad with $10" pizza. We will return

Fun trivia night! (We came in first place!) Creative and tasty tavern style pizza. Good crust. Good sauce! Had a BBQ pork pizza and the French Dip pizza. That was delicious!?
Experienced for the first time at Lamp on a Free Pizza Sunday! Insane quality, well balanced on sauce/toppings/bread ratio, steak, pepperoni, cheese, a few i don’t remember, all were 10/10!
