“Since the new owners took over, I've been there 4 times now. Very impressed with the service, staff, and food. The last 2 times have been with my kids. Michael, Jess, Rich, Natasha excellent Service. But Rachel is killing it in the kitchen! Place is usually packed, not long wait time, food is excellent, staff is extremely friendly and service is excellent. If you're 45-60 minutes from Dow City, a must try! The Sirloin is my favorite. Lot of good places in western Iowa, but feel blessed to have this 8 miles from home. Thank you to everyone that works hard to deliver a very pleasant experience at this establishment. Highly recommend!!!”

“Had the tenderloin. Consistently the best in Iowa in my opinion! It is huge, breading is light and crispy, meat is super tender and fries are delicious. Service s fast and friendly. A+ all the way around.”

“Older style dairy queen where you order your food at the counter and eat outside. Good service. Good ice cream. Eat the ice cream quickly on a hot day and make sure you have lots of napkins!”

“Owning several small businesses myself, I try to hit small town businesses for lunch whatever I’m out and about. Today was no different I drove by The Cob Barr & Grill! It has probably been 20+ years since I’ve been in that bar and let me tell you it is beautiful inside and what makes it even better is the beauty of the people inside!!! I was greeted by the owner, who shook my hand and was so very common and so pleasant…. As was the waitress! It was a quick stop today, but she sent me on my way with a menu which I’m excited to bring some friends ball a k and come eat one afternoon or evening! Food is very affordable and absolutely delicious! I honestly felt like I was “part of the family,” just stopping in just to grab a bowl of soup!!! I don’t always have enough time to write as many reviews as I would like, but this was something I couldn’t pass up. I had to leave a review because when somebody makes You feel like you’re a very special customer you must speak up to the world because I’m sure I’m not alone! I would highly recommend anybody coming through this area to take a lunch or dinner break here at The Cob! Thank you for making me feel special! 🩷”

“We were in Denison for a school band event and we took our large group to Pizza Ranch. What could have been a very stressful time for us as adults turned out to be a really pleasant experience. The place was packed with several big groups of middle schoolers (who can definitely be difficult customers) and the staff handled it all like champs. Fresh pizza was coming out nonstop, and everyone working was still kind and patient despite all the noise and chaos. Huge shout-out to Derek, the manager. He stayed cool under pressure, was super flexible, and jumped in to help problem solve so things kept moving smoothly for everyone, whether they were part of the big groups or just there for a normal meal. And of course, the food was great! Highly recommend!”

“The hamburger soup was just okay, nothing to write home about. However, the roast beef between bread with potatoes all smothered in gravy was absolutely perfect! Exactly what I was needing without realizing it. The waitress was not friendly initially and took forever to take just our drink orders. I think she was overly busy and had a bit too much on her workload but she softened up as our meal finished up. I love these hole in the wall diners, they're always the ones that surprise me the most. Let me tell you, the price for lunch, 2 people, was just a little over $25. You can't find those prices in fast food these days! This is a, not so hidden, gem (right off the main drag) that most everyone can find something comforting to eat with a hometown, diner, old school kind of vibe. Don't just drive on by, stop and see for yourself!”

Wonderful soul she helped me by answering questions That I had about what was on sandwiches, etc., and answered them fast This woman knows her job And then the cook seen that I was waiting for my food as I seen my order was up and I believe his name was Matt seen I was waiting and he took it upon himself to go upfront As the lady of the window was busy I watched him wash his hands Before he came upfront and Greeted me with a smile and said I got you And asked me about my day Really made me feel warm and welcomed Haven’t had an experience like this in a Burger King in a very long time”
