we ate here for the first time tonight. they were patient and friendly with us. we were clueless. they helped us order! The food was AMAZING! WE WILL GO BACK!
Delicious and Generous portions! Sweet people! Unique desserts fresh and ready to go. I ordered ahead the small platter for 4 people, could feed 8, they texted me when its ready for pickup on time. Try the Coffee!
I finally tried their food! We ordered the chicken, the mini balkan, and the stuffed peppers and all were absolutely delicious! I grabbed a bunch of the fresh baked desserts as well and they were a hit (who can turn down tiramisu?)
I enjoy exploring new places vs. chain restaurants. This was outside my comfort zone. I do not eat much meat. If you enjoy meat, this is your restaurant. I took the sampler plate. Designed for 1. Honestly, I think two or more. Little grocery store - meats, cheeses, coffee and cookies. Run by Bosnian couple.
The food was phenomenal. We are also from Europe and were very impressed with the food. The owner is so incredibly kind. My grandmother who is an elderly women had a hard time deciding on what to order and he was so patient with her. I would absolutely return!! Thanks!
This is the second time we have ate here. I am telling you this is the best place to get your Cevapis from. You have to come and check it out , I don’t think anyone in Iowa has the best than Ados Taste of Europe.
Nice guy I love the food and choice of Balkan sweets and groceries
The mini Balkan plate is the best meal I have had in Dubuque! Authentic flavors from Bosnia and an amazing value.
This place was interesting. Please read the other low rated reviews ALSO! The owner threatens to call police on a amendment 1 freedom of speech for google reviews. He will copy and paste his other responses of threatening consumers fear of losing his rating. Not one person has verbally attacked the owner. That is false info claimed by the store owner to purely tell people to take down their reviews.
Let’s say I ate a lot of Bosnian food in the past years this place is far the best I’ve been. Food is so fresh lotta beautiful flavor I will be back

Our family went out for lunch after a high school graduation. We loved the European hamburgers and the mini Balkan plate the best! The wait was well worth having food of a different kind than the run-of-the-mill. This restaurant will be a great find for travelers to Dubuque and anyone living here who loves ethnic food.
This was my first time eating at Ado's. The overall experience was more like 2 1/2, but I'd give it three stars for the following issues:- the owner was very polite and engaging. He greeted me warmly and checked in on me frequently. Very good customer service- the setting is okay. There was a table in the dining area with a number of papers and business forms...it looked like he was doing his taxes in the middle of the restaurant...not very professional. The tables and dining area is clean, but the music from the large TV in the corner is too loud and overpowering when trying to enjoy the meal- the food was okay. I ordered the Flatbread with Chicken, and it was well cooked, and presentable, but not very flavorful. It was just grilled chicken- the price is a little high for the quantity and quality of food you get ($12 for full portion). I would have hoped he would have asked me if I wanted the full or half portion (as I noticed later), but he gave (and charged me) for the full portion without mention of the smaller size. Be sure to be clear what size of meal you want on the front end- Be prepared to wait to get your food. It took about 20-25 minutes to get my meal. The owner later explained that it "takes time to make good quality food"...which I totally understand...but 20 minutes seems like an unusually long period of time in a small, sit down restaurant. I've been to other restaurants that also prepare all their food fresh, but they don't usually have to wait that long. The owner should explain to people when they order that their food will take a long time to get.Overall, this place was okay. Would I go again? Maybe to try some other dishes, but I didn't leave thinking I would recommend this place to others. I think it can be a really good restaurant if they will take the time to read this review and address some of these issues. I'm hopeful they'll take these comments as constructive criticism.
First time in Ado’s Taste of Europe and you HAVE TO GO! Mirsad was very personable, made us feel extremely welcomed and gave us an amazing experience. The mini Balkan was a true taste of Europe- chicken, cevapi, sausage, flatbread, sweet peppers and mushrooms. A festival of flavors. For dessert, fruit crepes and Bosnian coffee. We can’t wait to come back!
Great food! They make everything fresh so expect a 20+ minute wait for your order, but it is well worth the wait.
Friendly and great, made to order, food!
