Happy Joe's Pizza & Ice Cream - Dubuque- Century Dr.

Absolutely nothing is better than a fresh, piping hot Happy Joe's pizza. U literally can never go wrong with this choice. The pizza is amazing, the staff is absolutely the friendliest, the atmosphere is fun and the aroma is intoxicating. Had a combo plus Little Joe a few nights ago. Delicious. The crust was tender in all the right places and crispy exactly where U wanted it. But their service has gone downhill a bit. It was not a busy night whatsoever actually in the restaurant. There were 3 girls up at the ice cream and candy area just lolly gagging around. And a 4th on the floor sporadically. Yet, after waiting 10+ minutes 2 get our left over pizza taken care of so we could head out, I went up 2 the counter to accomplish that. I asked for either foil or a box to take the rest of our pizzas in. If it had only been a piece or so, I'd have just used a napkin. But we had 6 pueces we wanted 2 take home. The girl rolled her eyes at me a literally threw the box for our leftovers. It slid across and over the counter at me. Plus all 3 of us have noticed that the employees R very rarely smiling any more nor R they as polite as they used 2 B. Which is a shame bc Dubuque is now inundated with pizza places any more.

This place is great. Took me back in time with the decor. I had cheese stix they were good wish the dough was a little thicker. Then I tried the wings bone in of course only wing to eat, anyway for baked wings they are good and usually don’t like baked wings. Then I had a little joe with pepperoni and mushrooms, it was the perfect size since I’m watching how much I eat now. Nice crispy bottom could have used a little more cheese though. Waitress was very nice and explained everything. Overall if you get a chance to come here don’t hesitate it’s good and takes you back to the 80s.

5/5. The food was delicious. We got the pan style and cheesy breadsticks. It took a little while for the pizza to get out but the manager was so kind and checked on us (we didn’t care, pizza is worth the wait). If you want fast go to somewhere gross like little caesers. *Real* pizza people know a good pizza joint when they see one. I loved the food! Wish there was one closer to us :) would absolutely recommend.

Thankfully there were no birthdays when we visited. Typical Happy Joe's atmosphere. The waitress seemed bored. The taco pizza was just what I remembered...delish.
