The Chai Tea Latté was excellent. I cannot say the same about the service. That said, I did not feel welcome. A patron who looked different than us was treated warmly. My friend was treated gruffly. Both were standing next to each other. We won't be returning. First time in Dubuque. First business visited. Hopefully, this is the exception and not the rule.
We loved Monks! The coffee slapped, the atmosphere was eclectic yet made us feel very safe as an LGBTQ couple. If we lived in town, this would be our go-to spot with its helpful and chill bartenders.
I have been coming into Monks for almost 15 years now & it is always the nicest most eclectic coffee house/bar in Dubuque. People are always super friendly & the staff is awesome!
