We arrived and were told 30 minute wait, we went downstairs to play arcade while we waited. When we got back up the staff were not sure what to do. There were other guests who had not been taken care of yet. The staff didn't know if they should sit us down or not. We ended up leavin
g to go somewhere else, we had littles, so they were already fussy for waiting 30 minutes. Hopefully, it was just an off-day and they were able to get things figured out!

Fettuccini sauce was flavorless. I had with chicken and my spouse had with shrimp. Ragu fettucini sauce has a better flavor than this restaurant did. The sauce was the most watered down Ive ever had. We were both disappointed with our food, especially with each dish being $18 a plate.

Servuce was poor. Are waitress did a horibal job. We hardly seen her and had to ask multiple times to get are drinks refilled. She even stopped at the table once and asked if we need anything more and for the third time we asked for a refill on the drinks and finaly got them.
The food was not good at all. My wife and I both had Alfredo. The Alfredo sauce was almost water down. Had no good flavor to it and paid 18 dollars a plate. Sorry, but the store bought sauce was way better and cheaper. Will not be returning to this restaurant or even this chain of restaurants if this is how you cook your food. My advice is don't waste your time and money at this place.

Giving this place 2 stars to be nice. Been here once before and my husband loved the ribs but that's all that's good. Host wasnt friendly, waiter never checked on us after we got our order (had to go to the bar for a drink). He never clarified or asked any questions about our order. Ordered 3 appetizers. Brought out chicken flatbread instead of steak, chicken bites were essentially sad looking chicken nuggets with a side of bbq sauce, and the shrimp came in a dirty daqauri glass. We asked they at least take the chicken and toss it in Buffalo sauce. Still didn't help they were bad. The flatbread came cold. The shrimp was hard to eat being on top of a weird salad in a glass. The taste was okay for the flatbread and shrimp but definitely not worth what we paid. Lol we had to wait forever to pay because our server disappeared. No drink refills. Finally came and we asked for the bill. Worst server and restaurant overall. Go to a sketchy casino and you'll get better food and service. Server acted like he just didn't want to be there at all. I too work in the service industry but come on! Would've posted pics but wouldn't let me.

I really want to like Tony Romas - Dubuque, but every time I go there I always experience some sort of disappointment! I went there last Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at about 5:30 pm with my sister-in-law and 8 year old grandson. When we entered the restaurant, a woman that was supposed to be a hostess type person barely greeted us! We had to ask her if we could "just go in?" She said "how many?". Like she couldn't see that there were 3 of us? I told her 3, and we wanted to sit outside on the patio, since there was music happening at 6 pm. She proceeded to have us follow her out to table on the patio. Clearly, she should not be a "greeter" type employee. The young man that took our drink order appeared nearly 15 minutes later (too long of wait, and it was not busy). He was, however, very nice. We had to wait at least 15 more minutes for him to bring us our drinks (again, too long). We ordered our food at that time. Our food took about 30 more minutes to arrive at our table! (again, too long). As we proceeded to eat our food, we noticed that the ribs, the potato soup, AND the kid's mac & cheese were not heated through all of the way! There were actual "cold" spots in the middle, as if they took it all from a refrigerator and tried to heat it up in the microwave. I think that they make the ribs in advance, refrigerate them, then pull them out and slap them on a grill to heat up, then spread a layer of bbq sauce on them. The soup and mac & cheese are probably also made ahead, refrigerated, and microwaved at serving. Well, we sent it all back to have it all heated up more and told the waiter that we did not appreciate cold food, and that whoever is in the kitchen should know better! The only thing that was served "hot" was the French fries in our meal! I would not be complaining about this if this wasn't such an expensive meal...but when I have to pay this high price I expect better! Also, they do not take care of their outdoor patio. The strings of lighting that hang above the patio have at least a dozen broken light bulbs and no one pulls the weeds growing along the edge! It all looks exact same as last summer. Why don't they do anything?

Our server, Marcus J was very polite and friendly and did a good job. However, it took longer than reasonable for our food to arrive for a party of 6 adults and 2 young kids. When it finally arrived, only the adults' food arrived and it took an additional 20 minutes for the kids' food to arrive. By the time the kids' food had arrived, most of us had finished our food and the kids had survived on our fries as they were starving. This was unacceptable service by the kitchen staff.
We complained to our server, Marcus who was very apologetic and we asked to talk to the manager. Our server came back and apologized on behalf of the manager and team and offered us a discount but it took a while for the manager herself to eventually come out to talk to us. She should have come to talk to us right away. We were not charged for the kids' meals. However, it is unacceptable that a restaurant would make 2 young kids wait such a long time for their food and serve them so long after the adults' food had arrived. How complicated is it to make chicken nuggets and fries? Also, the food overall was not good - most of it was overcooked, dry and tasteless. We will never return to this restaurant again.
