Location used to be called "The Broth Lab". I thought maybe it had undergone a change in ownership, but it appears to simply be a rebranding, as some remnants of the previous menu still exist (three different types of noodle bowls - two ramen, and one with rice noodles).
Experience was positive, and a tip was left after my visit. However, I would advise others that the expected average price is NOT "$10-20". Unless you plan on ordering an appetizer and no entrée, only a single menu item was $13 - a rather unremarkable-sounding cheeseburger with pickles. All other menu items ranges between $17 and $24, and would therefore easily hit a minimum of a $20 order just by adding a drink, even a nonalcoholic option like soda or tea. Even the cheeseburger falls within this range, should one want to add fries - which makes the item $17 instead of the $13 mentioned earlier.
This factor did not negatively affect my experience, but I felt it helpful to share in order to inform others what to expect.

Great restaurant, fantastic craft drinks, but sitting out in the patio is torture, the chairs are so so uncomfortable. I just watched a couple complain and move inside. The management has known this for well over a year yet they don't do anything about . Decent chairs are expensive but I think it would go a long way.

I really love the atmosphere here. It's a great place to hang out ? and enjoy a delightful beverage and a good meal. I thought the fried chicken was ok, not my idea of southern fried chicken but definitely ok! The flavor pallette was off, I didn't like the flavor of the sweet potatoes with the chicken but the experience was superb.I thought they needed a stronger savory flavor to balance the chicken flavor BUT it was exceptional service and divine atmosphere.What it lacked in zingy flavors it made up for in drinks and vibes ❤️❤️❤️

Don’t waste your time with this place, especially if you decide to visit here for lunch. It takes them 30-45 minutes to make the simplest order and make sure to double check your food, because more than likely the whole order might have been made incorrectly! Save your time and your money by avoiding this place! The service is terrible.

I ordered and paid for a veggie burger online, and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. 20 minutes later I arrived, and it wasn't ready. I asked them to just cancel the order and give me my money back if they hadn't made it yet, but they said they did not know how to give me my money back. So I took it home and cut into it, and it was the weirdest, rubbery texture, unlike any vegetables I had ever encountered. It tasted terrible and I had to spit it out. Richard tasted it and also spit it out. If the Lunchbox reaches out to us and gives us our money back, I will take this review down. - Dorothy Drees

Small Town Plus Size
The Cobb salad was one of the best we’ve had. The dressing was light and paired perfectly with the salad. The chicken sandwich was good too. We’ll be back next time we’re in Fairfield.

The Lunchbox is a dark and cozy little restaurant with great food!It takes a bit but everything is made to order which is awesome!The salads are fresh, the french fries are absolutely amazing!The Smashburger was very good, I got a single which was delicious but a bit bun heavy.Next time I’m going to get a double and it will be just right!Highly recommend!
