“We like eating here when we can. One of our sandwiches was made wrong which took several minutes to fix. We had ordered a dessert to be picked up later, but cashier didn't add it to our ticket. Went back later and ordered dessert and waited over 15 minutes. Had to go to counter and wait for it to be made. Felt like no management oversight was being done.“

“We went to the drive through and then I took my toddler to use the bathroom. I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness, the bathroom doesn’t even smell like a fast food restaurant’s bathroom. I walked in and it was very clean. The food smells delicious upon entry. When we got our food the burgers were well put together and had everything we asked for. The employees were very welcoming and smiled and said hello even tho we just went it to use the bathroom.“

“Unfortunately McDonald's kind of has a reputation and you know what your getting when you go there. With that being said the new automated order system is terrible! Nothing beats a real person and hard work. I did have an employee question me about my religion which was weird didn't bother be particularly but can see where it would upset someone else. I don't mix my cheeseburger with religion.“

Wendy's at 2313 5th Ave S in Fort Dodge showed exactly how customer service should work when problems arise.

Initial Issue: Visited on April 21st, 2025 at 5:52 PM and ordered an apple pecan chicken salad through the drive-thru. Unfortunately, the chicken came out dry and hard as a rock - completely inedible. This was clearly a food preparation problem.

Outstanding Customer Service: I went inside and showed the issue to the staff member. They immediately offered to remake the salad or substitute it with something else. No questions asked, no hassle - just immediate acknowledgment of the problem and a solution.

Great Resolution: I chose to go with a burger instead, and it was fresh and delicious. The substitute meal was prepared properly and tasted great, completely making up for the initial disappointment.

What They Did Right: The staff handled this situation exactly how it should be handled - quickly, professionally, and with a genuine desire to make things right. They turned a negative experience into a positive one through excellent customer service.

Future Improvement: While the service recovery was perfect, I hope they figure out what went wrong with the chicken preparation to prevent this from happening to future customers. Food quality control is important.

Bottom Line: Despite the initial food quality issue, this location's commitment to customer satisfaction and immediate problem resolution deserves recognition. This is how restaurants should handle problems.

I used to dread going here because without fail, every time we went here, either our food was messed up or we didn't receive things we paid for. The food has been so much better recently and I haven't had a single problem with my orders.“
