This place is an absolute gem. You can't beat the atmosphere. They've put so much effort into make a space that is hip and fun and cool and welcoming. As a coffee-lover, I appreciate the quality of coffee they make (which isn't always a given at cute coffee shops). The baked goods are delicious and I always have a hard time choosing. Highly recommend!
This is what you want. Most of the time when I come into the area to visit I have to go to a chain coffee shop or even most local shops that all use mass produced syrups and everything just tastes like hot sugar in a cup. Not here. Their syrups are homemade, their coffee is roasted in house, and their drinks are crafted to perfection. The avocado toast is great too. What an awesome find.
My hubby and I moved to Fort Madison 7 months ago and one of the first things on my list to find was a good local coffee shop and let me tell you, Swed & Co. delivered on all fronts! Swed & Co. is everything I want in a coffee shop — modern & laid back atmosphere with lots of light, seating and outlets, downright GOOD coffee, tasty food & pastries, and friendly customer service.
