The rooms here offer everything you would need. Some have ocean views which is nice. Its a cross between a hotel and Inn. Good place to stay in the town for sure. There are several other restaurants close by and the local theatre is just a short drive less than 5 min.
Not going to lie, for the price of the rooms I expected it to be less dated. Having said that the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Our shower didn’t seem to get hot. Had a luke-warm shower. Restaurant on site was expensive and the food was just okay. Enjoyed the pub and the live music. Points for very kind staff.
Quaint spot to stay in Twillingate. Saw some wonderful icebergs minutes away. Went to Captaíns Pub - part of the Anchor Inn - and we’re THRILLED with the show put on by resident musician Mike Sixonate. He told stories, jokes and played guitar and sang great folk songs. It was like a good ol’ fashioned bonfire - without the fire! He performs every night but Sunday. WELL worth attending. You can also get Screeched In as well!
my husband and I stayed here for 2 nights. We had a queen room overlooking the water. The room was small but clean and comfortable. Having a restaurant right down the hall (without going outside in the inclement weather) was a plus. The food was very good. Make sure to get a room overlooking the harbor, and try to get the king room which is larger.
I recently brought a group to Twillingate for a weekend yoga retreat and the Anchor Inn was our home base. It was absolutely perfect. The rooms were clean, spacious and beautiful. The staff were amazing and were so incredibly helpful in planning the retreat weekend. Georgie's restaurant is unreal and right on site which makes it very convenient. They have one of the best burgers I have ever eaten. Such a beautiful place with a stunning view from the oceanfront rooms. Highly recommend.
Boone is the best!!!
Booked with friends . Two rooms. We were placed in the annex. The ocean view consisted of a little bit of the harbor with trees partially obstructing the view. We arrived early after lunch. Went to check out the hotel. The unfriendly clerk told us it wasn’t checkin time yet. We inquired about the church next door if it was still holding services she said she didn’t know. No effort was made to inquire about it. Seemed we were a bother. When we checked in later the lady was very pleasant. Our room was clean and dated. The sheets were stained. We had discolored towels, use to be white now yellowish in the bathroom. We went to the lounge that night and listened to a Newfoundland performer. We enjoyed the music. Ordered nachos from the bar which consisted of potato chips with melted cheese on them and some condiments. We went to Georgie’s the next day for breakfast. Again same unfriendly service. A cranky young lady seemed rather abrupt with us and another couple that arrived as we did. We ate there but was told menu items were not available because tourist season was over and the restaurant doesn’t reorder those items. Wouldn’t recommend this place when there are so many other places nearby. We only booked because we were with another couple and needed two rooms. Our first visit to Twillingate, it has beautiful scenery and lots to see and do. As we found out there are many other places there to stay with great views and from talking to other people better accommodations and customer service.
For the most part we enjoyed our stay at this Inn. It was unusually hot and humid during our stay so everything felt damp in the rooms. My biggest pet peeve was the plastic mattress cover under the sheet. It was hot and noisy when I moved around. We had 2 uncomfortable sleeps here. The restaurant for breakfast was good. Our server even went out of her way to find me fish cakes after a tour group had cleaned them out. Great cafe across the road for your early morning coffee on the deck!
Stunning Harbour view. Elegantly appointed room (Hodge Premises) Staff represents everything that is special about Newfoundland…warm, welcoming, friendly…go above and beyond to ensure that you are being taken care of. Blue Barrel Cafe, ..the absolute best morning light breakfast..going to miss those scones. Enjoying local music at the Captain’s Pub was a big evening highlight…fabulous local music. ideal location
Don’t book this place, view is river not ocean. Sheets were dirty. Rooms have no air conditioning and need major repair. Find a cottage on the ocean. The pictures are not a true reflection of this place. High price for what you get. Find something for same price on ocean.

We stayed one night on our travels through Newfoundland. Loved the Twillingate area and our stay at the Anchor Inn was wonderful. Very large spacious room with beautiful harbour view. We had an amzing dinner at the restaurant on site and then went to the Pub on site to listen to some wonderful local music from Jordan Harnum. Would definitely stay again if back in the area.
No other place like it.
Boone always makes you feel like your her family
If your up for some excitement this is the place to come. There's never a full moment with Boone running the place.
