We've been coming here a long time, so I'm surprised that I haven't reviewed this place. EVERY time we go to Des Moines, we have to stop here for some of the best fried rice in the world. We also get an extra order to go, it's that good. I get the shrimp fried rice (ask for it to be spicy), and it is perfection...plenty of eggs, veggies are chopped tiny, excellent flavor, and the shrimp are flavorful. Most places cook very bland shrimp, then mix it with the rice. Not here. I should have taken a picture. They somehow crisp it up lightly, and full of flavor. Prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly & attentive. Highly recommended.

Years ago we stumbled upon this restaurant coming back from Des Moines. Over the years we have eaten here several times. The food is delicious. The service is fast and polite. Prices are very good. Excellent value!

Food was just terribly bland... duck tasted off. All the food we got either tasted very bland or just had a really strange flavor. Highly disappointed.

They do only carry outs post covid but no problem. The orange chicken and fried rice are some of the best food you can order here. Quick service and excellent food
Lunch specials are super worth, under $10 for a meal + egg roll or crab Rangoon. Always super fast and super kind! I love the hot & sour soup and crispy tofu for a rainy day :)

I frickin love Chuong Garden. Tracy, the owner, is a hell of a person and I'm glad her and her family are a part of the community. The food is hot, it's fast, it's delicious, and it's reasonably priced to boot. There's fancier places in Grinnell, sure, but I'd say that pound-for-pound Chuong Garden is easily one of the best restaurants in Grinnell and it has been for.. what, almost 20 years now.
