We go here pretty often and there is a worker there who consistently has a bad attitude and a snarky look she always scowls at us has zero manners and always gives us glaring side eye when she works the drive-thru she doesn't say anything she gives us the ice cream there's ice cream on the cups and she doesn't bother to wipe it not sure what her issue is if she hates the job she can quit nobody forced her to work and she doesn't wear a name tag once I figure out what her name is I will post it here next I'm in there I'm going to take a photo and post it here as well

Ungodly slow in the drive thru you can see 2 people working and 1 to 2 others standing around doing nothing . But food is good If you get what you ordered

I got a small strawberry banana shake and it tasted spoiled to me don't know what was wrong with it. I didn't get a receipt to be able to tell them about it.

We live on the north side of Des Moines & this is the ONLY Dairy Queen we go too. Altoona & Ankeny both don't come close to comparing to this one. We went again today & everything was perfect. Hot food and friendly employees, don't get any better then that. Thanks to everyone who works here & the Owner. GOOD JOB😁

Waited 45 minutes and only got half the order. Make sure you get a receipt when you order so you can go back up and get the other half of your food afterwards.

I absolutely hate to make a fuss over something so trivial, but it's starting to get ridiculous. I go to Dairy Queen semi-regularly and get the original cheeseburger (it's the best plain and simple burger in town, I've eaten at every burger place here) a reg sized cheese curd, a Pepsi and now for the offending item: a Royal Reeses Peanutbutter blizzard, with chocolate ice cream. A while back, the Dairy Queen test kitchen saw fit to change my beloved peanutbutter treat to one with marshmallow fluff in it...which I do not like the taste of. So I asked the first time after I saw the menu change if it was possible to make it the old way, they said yes and then for 3 or 4 times after that, it was made perfectly everytime. A nice core of peanutbutter, well mixed candies, and a lid when I asked. Then things turned for the worse, I'm sad to say that almost every single time I've ordered this blizzard after that has been made in multiple wrong ways. They'll make it as a fluffernutter, or they won't make it with chocolate ice cream, or they'll make it with chocolate ice cream but marshmallow fluff instead of the peanutbutter. Every single time, I'm very careful to tell them exactly what I want...yet they still make it wrong. If I was an angrier person, I might think they were doing it on purpose, and up to now I've quelled that thought because dairy Queen has been one of my favourite chains since highschool. If it had only been a couple times, I wouldn't be writing this, but it happens more often than not, it's fairly expensive, and it really drags down the experience I have going there. I simply don't understand how they get it so wrong every time.

Delicious treats as usual.
The inside is reasonably clean, definitely looks like a classic Dairy Queen that I grew up with.

Parking: Decent amount of parking, but it can be difficult to get in or out if the drive through gets backed up.

We were impressed with the extra efforts put forth to assist the deaf person in front of us at the front counter. The young employee read the note, pointed to the small order screen to verify it was correct, and they even used sign language so say "thank you" at the end. wow!

Idk about some of the previous comments, but while they were busy when we were there I didn't see any of the high school staff not working and we all know how kids can be when working with friends. I was really impressed with their kindness, organization, and cleaning that we witnessed.

This DQ is the best and our experiences have been great, but I realize nothing is ever perfect. It appears they are trying very hard to take care of everyone. Wanted to give them a shout out! We are going again tonight.

Kid-friendliness: high chairs and booster seats there were nice
