Friends and I were out on a road trip and stopped in Indianola for some ice cream. The staff was OUTSTANDING and helpful. The ice cream was excellent. The store reminded us of stores at the time we grew up! A must stop when you are in the area!

Cute little place to stop. Takes you back in time to an old candy store with ice cream sundaes, floats & more. Lots of fun candy to look at. Places to sit inside and a bench outside. We went at the end of the day so they were out of two different ice cream flavors. We took our kids and they thought it was neat. If you are looking for “something different” or get the “we’re bored”, give this a try.
Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly as in there is lots to look at. If they struggle with touching everything, maybe not ?. The bar stools next to the ice cream freezer are high, so more for 6+ year olds without supervision.

If you want a MALT instead of a malt, go here. I'm always disappointed when I order malts anywhere now because none of them ever taste like malted milk. This one was so good!

I've traveled the world over, and this is the best soda fountain on the planet Earth. Old school soda fountan/sundry. The Cherry Coke chocolate Coke tastes just like Harry used to make them. The Malts taste the same as well. This place is an Iowa institution and should be placed on some type of a national historic register. I can't tell you how much I love this place. This is the first place I go every time I hit town.

A wonderful stop for sweets and treats in downtown Indianola. Real fruit shakes, candy, coffee and drinks, etc. Very nostalgic atmosphere.
