Oh my word!! I got 1 medium strawberry shake and a sundae called “sweet and salty”! No prices listed anywhere! The kid that made it acted like he didn’t know what he was doing! Some other girl rang up the tab and I couldn’t believe it!! I will NEVER stop there again!!! My tab $24.79. for 1 medium shake and 1 sundae!! My husband waited in the truck and when I said “enjoy it” he said he would have walked out and left it!! I should have!!!! Never again! I’ll go buy my gallon at Sam’s club and add my homemade fudge that is MUCH better than whatever was on that sundae!!

I'm passing through Indianola. Recalled years ago eating there when the original owner was starting out, it was better decorated, more welcoming from outside. Today, I wasn't sure it was open. The windows look boarded up when driving north. They could be colorful with ice cream cones and fun pictures.. etc. A new sign close to thy street. The two young girls inside were friendly, and it seemed clean. Offered samples. I chose two flavored.. yummy yummy. ?

I hate having to update my review. A year ago or so there was a change in management and unfortunately the service has gone down hill and the prices have skyrocketed. I took my kids in 2 times over the last month. 2 single scoop ice cream cones were over $16 and, while the ice cream was still delicious, the individuals working behind the counter seemed annoyed and were less than courteous. No "hellos" or "thank you's"--- just rude sighs and annoyed looks.

We used Outside Scoop for our wedding and they knocked it out of the park! All of our guests have been talking about how much they enjoyed their ice cream on a warm summer day in June!
Great Ice Cream Shop. I have been going here since college. They make their own fun creations and have pre-packaged flavors to take home to your freezer if you want. They have nice outdoor seating if the weather is nice. The shop is close the big bike trail that runs through town. I believe they have a party room now also, I have not checked that out yet.
Parking: Just a small little lot. You could always park near by and just walk across the street, etc. I believe there is a stoplight right at that corner.
Kid-friendliness: Just a fun environment. Fun flavors.
Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, they have a ramp up the back door.
Always delicious ice cream! The Indianola location is a bit “hit or miss” when it comes to service. Spoon and napkin dispensers were empty when we visited recently (maybe 6:30 pm on a Friday). And I know things are tough right now, but our bill was just under $50 for three adults and two kids. The price for toppings is a bit silly, too, especially for the lack of quantity you get for those extras.
Again, hard to find better tasting and quality ice cream around though!

Got there at856pm and could only have a dish of ice cream which is not what I wanted, but she said they were closing and couldn't make a banana split or a sundae ended up with a scoop of ice cream. Shame on small business to operate like that. The girl was rude and act like she wanted to be there.
