The pistachio flavor tasted sour

I had a rough day and wanted to eat ice cream and try not to cry. The young lady at the cashier saw me and asked me ( hey do you like strawberries, I was like yeah) she ran and came back with a dipped in chocolate strawberry and if that’s not the sweetest thing ever I don’t know what

The food was very good, but the man who was maybe in his early 20s who was working there was rude. Came in about 45 mins before close and he kicked us out saying that they were closing at that time. It wasn't near closing time at all. I love this place but the service wasn't great.

Normally when I go I get fresh chocolate covered strawberries. But lately and today I was given 8 rotten chocolate covered strawberries. As pricey as they are that’s messed up to be serving rotten strawberries covered in chocolate. It’s not fair to the buyers.

Fro-yo is good, lots of topping options like wafers, boba, fruits, syrup, etc. the staff are chill too, you can get caramel apples and chocolate/caramel. Some seating, but I’d rather be outside since downtown Iowa city is chill.

Vegetarian options: It’s a Fro-Yo place so no meat.

Parking: You gotta walk there from Washington st. And you gotta pay for a spot if you can even find an open one.

Quality has really gone downhill :( I've gotten something from them as an end of week treat for several years and I'm disappointed in how far it's fallen. The chocolate is overworked and the caramel is often tacky and doesn't stick to the apples. Hopefully it's just a change in staff and a new learning curve, but it's definitely not the same as it used to be.

The staff is very friendly. I tried apple caramel(?) for the first time and it was delicious. I bought the four items recommended by the staff and tasted them with my friends.
Cheesecake apple: Tastes like there is a little soybean powder on the outside. I liked them all without any dislikes. Personally, it was first place.
Cinnamon Apple: Everyone says this is delicious too. Recommended if you like cinnamon.
Nut Apple: Nuts, including walnuts, on the outside. Not bad
Sea Salt Apple: Hmm... there were a lot of dislikes for this one. If I were to describe the taste, would it be like eating salty chocolate? The taste is not so good

It was about $9 per apple. If you buy 4, you can purchase them for $30. It's not cheap for a dessert, and it's not healthy, so if you want to try it at least once, buy it.

It's always a pleasure coming to Aspen Leaf. Not only is the Fro Yo and chocolate amazing, the owner treats you like family. Try the candy apples while you're there :)

The cookie dough assortment is mind boggling and the array of flavors are very good. My qualm with this place are the high prices.
