Excellent service, food, and atmosphere! Everything was fantastic- from the margaritas to the burgers. Wonderful outdoor seating on the ped mall. Fast and friendly service- our waiter checked back many times and the owner/cook even came out to check on our food and our visit. The BLAT burger was outstanding!

Lucas is arguably the best bartender in downtown IC. Joe is also arguably the most hospitable owner of a restaurant or bar in Iowa City. Check out their rotating/seasonal cocktail menu, it’s fantastic.

I went into burger haul with anticipation because I heard great things about this place and i was so impressed it led me to write a review. Lucas the bartender was attentive, laid back and so welcoming. The inside bar is historic and beautiful and far from your everyday modern walk in watering hole. Then I met Joe.
