As a life long Donutland fan that’s lived in many states and tried every donut shop under the sun, I’ve always come back for their cream filled long johns. The cream is what set Donutland apart from anyone else. For some reason, both stores decided to switch the recipe to a more commercial/cheap cream and it’s ruined the experience for me. Unfortunately I don’t think i will be going back anytime soon because of this change.

My youngest daughter has been asking for "Donutland blueberry donuts" so today was the day! I stopped in this AM to get a dozen. We grabbed blueberry, vanilla & chocolate frosted with sprinkles, and a jelly! So delicious and fresh!

Bad Day?I have made the trip from North Liberty to IA City today just to go to this donut shop. I often find that the selection isn't what I'd like to see, but can usually find something that I like. The chop suey has been a safe bet for me.The one that I got today was flat with a few air bubbles, hollow inside and the consistency of a slightly burnt heel from a loaf of bread. It was no thicker than a pencil. (see photo) Lots of icing and a little bit of spice taste couldn't save it. I ended up throwing half of it away.I really like this place and want it to stay in business. The employees are always pleasant and helpful. Even with poor selection, I could count on the product being a certain way, so it was worth the trip. The chop suey that I had today should have been dumped instead of sold. It wasn't worth the trip or the money. I'm hoping that this is the exception, rather than the rule. If it happens again I won't be coming back.

Iowa City Donutland does not provide the same donuts as Cedar Rapids. Not as much of a selection and half the frosting or coating then the CR stores. Will not be going back to Iowa City location.

The donuts themselves are great - lots of flavor options and they taste good. This low review is for the business, specifically the online ordering process. I put an order for an event in four days ahead of time, and when I got there to pick it up that’s when I learned that part of my order was unavailable and I’d need to pick a new flavor. This is incredibly frustrating. Isn’t this the point of online ordering?? This is also not the first time this has happened with my donut order at this location. I wasn’t offered a discount or anything, just a “sorry”. I’m very disappointed with this process and probably won’t order from here again.

Great donuts, but you need to be sure and get there early if you want the best selection. You never know when someone is gonna swoop in and take all your favorites before you! ??

The people are really nice and we enjoy chatting with them. They are very kind to my kids as well. Without the quality of the people, this review would have been only two stars. The quality of the donuts is subpar. Most are dry and lack bold flavor. Plus, the variety seems more and more limited every time we visit.
Late again... and??? Not a happy camper. I figured an actual donut shop would have better donuts than a gas station. Not really.

They cater to huge orders then the normal customers giving them last priority. They never have any special doughnuts for walk in because they gave them to big orders first. They don’t care about the walk in customer and their ability to have a better choice than plain or no choice at all. Save your money shop elsewhere. Staff didn’t even care one bit less doughnuts for the walk in folks less work they have to do. Shop else where and get a variety and some doughnuts!

I placed my order for three boxes of donuts at 8:30 am. Paid in full because of online order. Pickup was scheduled for 11 am. At 10:37 I received a call telling me they were sold out. What level of incompetence, poor management, or exceptionally poor service allows this to happen? They were already paid in full. Why wouldn't the order have been filled and set aside? Unfortunately, I didn't have anything for the event I was headed to. Their system is so poor I continued to receive text messages about my order being ready to pickup, thanking me for my purchase, and feedback. They have no idea what they are doing!Saying "sorry" doesn't cut it. Nice words that are only backed by incredibly bad service are not only hollow, they are disingenuous and disrespectful. Don't count on a good experience. It may not happen.
